Abstract The effect of anodic polarization in molten Na2CO3-K2CO3 at 750 °C was investigated on the structure of oxide scale formed by pre-oxidation of Ni-11Fe-10Cu-6Al alloy at 950 °C in air. The pre-formed oxide scale evolves and rearranges under anodic polarization related to melt corrosion and non-uniformly distributed electric field. Both of pre-oxidized and as-rearranged electrodes can serve as inert anodes with oxygen evolution. Anodic polarization exhibits a negative rearrangement-destructivity effect for the pre-formed oxide scale with corrosion protection of the rearranged oxide scale decreasing. The structure rearrangement of pre-formed oxide scale is also discussed during anodic polarization in the melt.

Preparation of peroxodisulphates by electrolysis of mixed solutions of sulphuric acid and various sulphates was studied at low degree of conversion; the partial polarization curves of peroxodisulphate formation and of oxygen evolution obtained from the overall anodic polarization curves and current yields of the principal anodic processes were examined. The mechanism of the effect of various cations on the rate of anodic formation of peroxodisulfates is discussed.

Pb-PANI-WC inert anodes were prepared by direct current and pulse electrodeposition of PANI (conductive polyaniline) and WC particles with Pb2+ on the surface of titanium (Ti) substrate. The anodic polarization curves, cyclic voltammetry curves and Tafel polarization curves were measured in the solution of 50 g/L Zn2+, 150 g/L H2SO4 and 35°C, and the kinetic parameters of oxygen evolution, voltammetry charge, corrosion potential and corrosion current density have been obtained. The surface morphologies of the coating were investigated by using scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results show that the inert anodes prepared by pulse electrodeposition possess lower overpotential of oxygen evolution, higher electrocatalytic activity, and better reversibility of electrode reaction and corrosion resistance.
