Open and healthy communication plays an important role in the determination of human relations. While people are interpreting the bodily feedbacks given by the people they are communicating with to understand their intentions, they rely on the information they give about themselves; that is, their explanations about themselves. The Johari Window technique is the technique that supports the creation of trust in interpersonal relations, as well as the elimination of problems arising in the communication used in counseling processes. According to this technique, the area including an individual's behaviors, attitudes, feelings, experiences, skills or clear information about how he/she looks is called the open area. This area’s being broad plays an important role in the individual’s developing close relationships with other members of society, in his/her happiness or in his/her living positive emotions. In many studies, it was determined that both the physical health and psychological health of the people who shared their knowledge about themselves were positively affected. The purpose of the current study is to expand the open area of the group members participating in nine-session group work by using Johari window so that their understanding and awareness of themselves can be improved and their understanding of others can be enhanced and they can be enabled to see interpersonal differences. The study group of the current research is comprised of 12 students; 5 females and 7 males, from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance who participated in the study on a volunteer basis. In the current study, in order to collect data, the Psychological Well-being Scale, which was developed on the basis of Ryff's (1989) psychological well-being model and the Johari Window Evaluation Form developed according to the model proposed by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham were used. According to the posttest results obtained at the end of the study, it was observed that the open areas of the university students participating in the group work were expanded and their scores taken from the sub-dimension “positive relationships with others” of the subjective well-being increased.

<p><em>This research aims is to understand how marrying couples manage their conflict in the setting of cultural difference. The principal theory used in this research is Johari Window theory that explains connection between self and openness in individual communications. </em></p><p><em>The methodology that used in this research is qualitative descriptive with interpretive perspective. This research is done at city of Semarang and use five couples as source. The couples itself do have setting on ethnical difference. </em></p><p><em>From fifth marriage couples we can found that openness, support, and sincere positive attitude in family, gives big contribution to create good communication in a family. Based on the interview all of informants declare that their wedding life is goes on well and harmonic, despite of several problems. In a whole they have good marriage and doesn’t find big conflict and or big problem that makes them lose communication each other, or with their larger family circle, or with society, despite their different ethnic background.</em><em></em></p>

<p>Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal yang telah dilakukan peneliti di lapangan<br />dan wawancara dengan konselor sekolah, diketahui bahwa kurang lebih 70%<br />siswa kelas X Ak 3 di SMK SORE Kota Madiun Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013<br />memiliki pemahaman diri yang masih rendah. Cara yang digunakan untuk<br />meningkatkan pemahaman diri siswa adalah dengan menggunakan model<br />permainan Johari Window. Model Johari Window merupakan model permainan<br />yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran diri (self-awareness) dan<br />pemahaman diri (self understanding) pada individu.<br />Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman diri<br />melalui model permainan Johari Window siswa kelas X Ak 3 SMK SORE Kota<br />Madiun tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.<br />Penelitian ini dirancang dengan menggunakan metode penelitian<br />eksperimen dengan desain pre-test and post test group. Populasi dalam penelitian<br />ini adalah siswa kelas X Ak 3 SMK SORE Kota Madiun. Pengambilan sampel<br />dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh yaitu siswa kelas X Ak 3<br />sebanyak 20 siswa. Pengumpulan data untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman diri<br />siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan model permainan Johari Window dalam<br />penelitian ini menggunakan metode angket. Dalam menganalisis data<br />menggunakan teknik t-test.<br />Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan pemahaman diri<br />siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan model permainan Johari Window yang<br />berarti ada peningkatan pemahaman diri melalui model permainan Johari Window<br />siswa kelas X Ak 3 SMK SORE Kota Madiun tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.<br /><br /></p>

ABSTRAKKonsep diri merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan individu yang merupakan refleksi yang dipandang, dirasakan, dan dialami individu mengenai dirinya sendiri. Adanya konsep diri akan menunjang individu menjalani hidup, kaena cara individu memandang dirinya merupakan cara seseorang menjalani hidupnnya. Loyalitas merek didefinisikan sebagai tingkatan dimana pelanggan memiliki sikap positif terhadap suatu merek, memiliki komitmen dan cenderung untuk terus melanjutkan membeli produk dengan suatu merek tertentu dimasa yang akan datang.  Dengan demikian, loyalitas merek secara langsung dipengaruhi oleh kepuasan / ketidakpuasan pelanggan terhadap merek tertentu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan pengumpulan data informan dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Peneliti menentukan subjek penelitian berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. Kriteria itu juga mengacu atas dasar kesesuaian pengetahuan atau permasalahan dan tujuan penelitian. Peneliti menggunakan empat informan dan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Peneliti menggunakan teori Johari Window untuk menjadi pegangan dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan konsep diri mahasiswa Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Cirebon dalam membentuk loyalitas merek sepatu converse didasari oleh pengungkapan diri dari pengguna merek sepatu converse yang merasa puas dan merasa percaya diri mengenakan merek sepatu converse. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dan membentuk loyalitas merek sepatu converse dengan teori konsep diri, yaitu kesadaran diri. Kesadaran diri adalah kemampuan untuk mengenali perasaan dan mengapa seseorang merasakannya seperti itu dan pengaruh perilaku seseorang terhadap orang lain. Faktor lainnya yaitu usia kematangan, penampilan diri, kepatutan seks, nama dan julukan, hubungan keluarga, teman-teman sebaya, kreativitas dan cita-cita.Kata Kunci : Konsep Diri, Loyalitas Merek Sepatu Converse Pada Mahasiswa

Aiming to address the methodology to explore and broaden college teachers’ international vision and horizon for engineering education of college students or engineers, this paper proposed an exploration framework based on Johari Window model. The framework of international vision exploration for teachers includes four zones: open/active vision, called Zone A; hidden/sleeping vision, called Zone B; blind/potential vision, called Zone C; and unknown/darkness vision, called Zone D. The four zones’ characteristics and formation mechanisms were generally analyzed, the corresponding driving forces were then identified in order to help transform teacher international vision within Zones B, C and D into Zone A. To provide the effective and feasible approach, several significant factors including culture tension, original vision conflict and pure curiosity for unknown were then determined in exploring and improving teacher’s international vision in terms of curiosity, inner creativity, potential vision, career development, and worldwide adaptability on engineering education evolution.
