Rhigonematid (Rhigonematida; Nematoda) parasites of Scaphiostreptus seychellarum (Spirostreptida; Diplopoda) in the Seychelles with comments on ovejector structure in Rhigonema Cobb, 1898

Two new species of Rhigonematida are described from the posterior intestine of Scaphiostreptus seychellarum from the Seychelles. Brumptaemilius seychellarum n.sp. (Ransomnematoidea; Carnoyidae) resembles B. gabonensis, B. venardi, B. oschei, and B. monsarratae in that the caudal end of the male is not abruptly truncate and supports an appendage longer than but not twice as long as the gubernaculum. The new species differs from the first two species in that it bears two longitudinal sub-ventral preanal rows of cuticular bosses. It is distinguished from B. oschei on the basis of details in the structure of the area rugosa in the male and from B. monsarratae by its longer spicules. Rhigonema seychellarum n.sp. (Rhigonematoidea; Rhigonematidae) resembles other Rhigonema spp. from Africa and India in having three postanal papillae pairs which are sublateral to subdorsal in position. It is most similar to R. madecassum but is distinguished by the shape of the caudal extremity in both sexes. Variation in the structure of the ovejector in Rhigonema spp. is reviewed.

Two new species of Cosmocercoidea are described from the posterior intestine of Amphisbaena alba from Brazil, namely Maracaya belemensis and Aplectana albae. Maracaya belemensis n.sp. differs from the type species, Maracaya graciai, in that the spicule is more arcuate and the posterior extremity of the gubernaculum tapers more gradually. In addition, a small prevulvar swelling is present in the type species but absent in M. belemensis. Maracaya pusilla (Miranda, 1924) n.comb. differs from the new species in possessing bifid spicules and in having many more eggs in utero. Aplectana albae n.sp. most resembles Aplectana unguiculata (Rudolphi, 1819) by its short, simple spicules. It differs in that the first two pairs of postanal papillae are very close together rather than being well separated as in A. unguiculata. The disposition of caudal papillae in both new species resembles that seen in many other Cosmocercidae and genera classified in the Atractidae. On the basis of this resemblance and similarities in the form of the excretory pore, Maracaya, Shrankiana, Schrankianella, Labeonema, Ibrahimia, and Paradollfusnema are transferred from the Atractidae to the Cosmocercidae.

Abstract—A synopsis of Dicliptera (Acanthaceae) for Brazil is presented. Six species are recognized: Dicliptera ciliaris, D. sexangularis, and D. squarrosa, widely distributed in South America; D. purpurascens, which ranges from the North Region of Brazil (in the state of Acre) to eastern Bolivia; D. gracilirama, a new species from the Atlantic Forest of northeastern Brazil; and D. granchaquenha, a new species recorded in dry and semideciduous forests in Bolivia and western Brazil, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Furthermore, we propose new synonyms and designate lectotypes for eleven names. An identification key to the six accepted Dicliptera species in Brazil is provided.

Abstract—Two new diploid species, Aira minoricensis and Aira hercynica, are described and illustrated, along with chromosome counts, risk assessment, distribution and habitat, phenology, and comparisons with morphologically similar species. A comparative table and a key for the species of Aira for the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands are provided to assist in the identification of these overlooked species, and their relationships to other taxa are discussed.

Abstract Bed-by-bed sampling of twelve Barremian sections in southeastern France from pelagic basin (Vocontian Basin) to neritic platforms (Arc of Castellane, Arc of Nice and Provencal Domain) has enabled the collection of isochronous samples of the ammonite genus Gassendiceras. Three poorly known species of the Toxancyloceras vandenheckei Zone (Upper Barremian) are revised: G. alpinum, G. multicostatum and G. hoheneggeri; two new species are described (G. rebouleti nov. sp. and G. bosellii nov. sp.). The intraspecific variability of particular species was recognised. This variability is between slender peramorphic and robust paedomorphic extreme morphologies, with the presence of all intermediates.

This paper continues the publication of new data obtained during field studies in remote and poorly studied regions of Laos in 2015–2018. It provides descriptions of two new species (Bulbophyllum brachyscapum Aver. and Sunipia saccata Aver.), emended descriptions of two previously published but insufficiently known species (Cleisostoma verrucosum Aver., Oberonia vesiculifera Aver.) and reports of eight species newly recorded in the flora of Laos (Biermannia calcarata Aver., Bulbophyllum farreri (W. W. Sm.) Seidenf., Didymoplexiella trichechus (J. J. Sm.) Garay, Eria eriopsidobulbon C. S. P. Parish et Rchb. fil., Habenaria ciliolaris Kraenzl., Liparis caudata Aver. et K. S. Nguyen, Odontochilus umbrosus (Aver.) Ormerod, and Porpax ustulata (C. S. P. Parish et Rchb. fil.) Rolfe). Appropriate citations of regional literature, colour illustrations, data on types and distribution, descriptions, etymology, as well as notes on taxonomy and related species are provided for the studied species.

Two new species of the ant genus Myrmecina Curtis, 1829 are described and illustrated based on the worker and queen castes collected in Sumatra, Indonesia under the names M. andalas sp. nov. and M. nitidiuscula sp. nov. Each species displays unique morphological characteristics. Myrmecina andalas sp. nov. is characterized by a combination of the following characteristics: head dorsally sculptured, with the ventrolateral area smooth and shiny; propodeal spine short, triangular, pointing dorsad and with a broad base; propodeal declivity vertical, with the posterodorsal angle almost 90°. Myrmecina nitidiuscula sp. nov. is characterized by a combination of the following characteristics: head dorsum largely smooth and shiny; propodeal spine triangular and pointing posteriad, with a very broad base. Updated key to Myrmecina species of Sumatra is given.
