A new species of monogenetic trematode, Octomacrum semotili, on the gills of the creek chub, Semotilus atromaculatus, is described. This is the fourth species in the genus Octomacrum Mueller, 1934.

ABSTRACTIn thirteen (mostly soil) mixed samples, collected from nine localities on the Antarctic continent and some of the neighbouring islands, 788 specimens and 32 eggs of tardigrades were found. In total, five species were identified:Acutuncus antarcticus, Echiniscus jenningsi,Diphascon(D.)victoriae,Hypsibius dujardiniandRamajendas dastychisp. nov.A. antarcticuswas the most abundant (nearly 90% of all specimens) and was the prevailing taxon found in the majority of locations.R. dastychisp. nov. is the fourth species described in the exclusively Antarctic/sub-Antarctic genus. The new species differs from all other congeners by the presence of four gibbosities on the caudo-dorsal cuticle (configuration II:2–2) and also by some morphometric characters. In this paper we also briefly discuss the taxonomy and zoogeography of the genusRamajendas.

Capniella gibba sp. n., the fourth species of the small East Palaearctic winter stonefly genus Capniella Klapálek, 1920 is described on the basis of male adults collected in the Odaesan Mts, Republic of Korea. Affinities of the new species is discussed, and characters are compared to congeners. This is the 96th stonefly species known from the Korean Peninsula.

A New Species

A fourth species of Ericaella, E. florezi n. sp., is described based on males and a female from Cauca, Colombia. A cladistic analysis of all known species of Ericaella, plus two outgroup species (Radulphius camacan Bonaldo and Eutichurus luridus Simon) is presented. The single optimal tree obtained depicted a sister group relationship between Ericaella longipes Chickering plus E. florezi sp. n. and E. samiria Bonaldo plus E. kaxinawa Bonaldo.

A new species of Triacanthoneus Anker, 2010 is described from an anchialine cave near Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico.Triacanthoneus akumalensis sp. nov., is the fourth species in the genus and can be distinguished from the previously de-scribed species by the position of the sharp lateral teeth on the carapace, the length and shape of the rostrum, the eyes beingcompletely concealed by the carapace, the dentition of the major chela fingers, and the shape of the telson. The presenceof a pleural process in the new species represents a new character for the genus. The description of T. akumalensis sp. nov. increases the number of caridean genera having representatives in the anchialine systems of the Yucatan Peninsula to 11.

A New Species

Three species of Temnocephala have been reported on Aegla from Uruguay: Temnocephala axenos, Temnocephala mertoni and Temnocephala talicei. As part of a systematic review of the Uruguayan species of Temnocephala, a fourth species was found on Aegla platensis and Aegla uruguayana. This species, new for the genus, has the following diagnostic characters: Large temnocephalan; slightly curved penial stylet (225 µm in length) with a symmetrical introvert (27 long by 18 µm in diameter) that has at least 44 spine-like projections, each bearing 7 rows of internal spines; a seminal vesicle that opens sub-polarly into the contractile vesicle; a muscular vagina with a strong asymmetrical sphincter; preequatorial nephridiopores close to the internal borders of the elongate-oval excretory syncytia; a large pharynx with anterior and posterior sphincters of about the same diameter and a narrow pharyngeal lumen with nearly uniform width. To contemplate the characters of the pharynx, an amendment of the genus Temnocephala is given. The new species resembles Temnocephala cyanoglandula, which also has a very long, slightly curved penial stylet, but differs from it by having a shorter penial stylet, a lower number of rows of spines in the introvert, a larger, different type of pharynx, a smaller contractile vesicle and a larger sucker. The new species is carnivorous and feeds on whole preys, which are mainly annelids (Stratiodrilus) and other species of Temnocephala. The new species was found to be hyperparasitised by plerocercoid and nematode larvae, but hyperparasites were not found in the other sympatric species of Temnocephala. Based on the findings presented here, it is clear that detailed histological descriptions of the pharynx should be contemplated as part of the normal work in taxonomy of temnocephalans.

A New Species

A new species, Toccolus javanensis sp. nova, is described from a rainforest in Gunung Puncak, western Java, Indonesia. It is the fourth species of the genus, which was hitherto known only from continental SE Asia. It possesses a low ocularium and general body shape strongly resembling Dino weberi Loman from Sumatra. The relationships of Toccolus are discussed and the closely related genus Dino Loman is transferred from Podoctinae (Podoctidae) to Epedaninae (Epedanidae).

The genus Goreopagurus McLaughlin, 1988 was erected for Pagurus piercei Wass, the description of which was based on a single male. Prior to the present study Goreopagurus was represented by three species: G. piercei (Wass, 1963); G. garthi McLaughlin & Haig, 1995; and G. poorei Lemaitre & McLaughlin, 2003. Herein we record the first occurrence of the genus Goreopagurus from Brazil, and add the fourth species to the genus.

A new megophryid species of Leptobrachium is described on the basis of three specimens collected from Kubu Perahu, Lampung Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. The new species, L. waysepuntiense sp. nov. is distinguished from all other congeners by the colour of iris, which is totally light bluish in adult and greyish in juvenile stages. It is similar to Bornean endemic species in the absence of dark markings around groin, and particularly to L. gunungense in the very small size of femoral gland. It is the fourth species of Leptobrachium recorded from Sumatra, and its discovery underscores the under estimated diversity of amphibians on Sumatra. Variation in the pattern of iris colour in Leptobrachium is discussed.

The fourth species of the family Fissiphalliidae is described, Fissiphallius martensi new species, from Reserva Ducke, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. It differs from other 3 species of the family by having ventral plate sword-like, sulcus II straight, the presence of a high spine on the eye mound, spines on coxa IV, lateral margin of dorsal scute, tergites, anal operculum and sternites, and the genital operculum shorter than stigmatic area.

A new species of Cerambycidae, Miccolamia (Miccolamia) arunachalensis Sreedevi & Ghate sp. nov. (Lamiinae: Desmiphorini) is described from northeast India. This is the fourth species of Miccolamia from India. Additionally, an updated key to the Indian species is also provided along with comments on related species of the subgenus.
