The sulfuration of the tricyclic organophosphorous dimer 2 leads easily to the dithiotricyclic derivative 3, which has been characterized by 31P, 1H, and 13C NMR, elemental analysis, and mass spectroscopy. Its crystal and molecular structure has been established by X-ray diffraction and compared to that of 2, which was previously determined. The comparative analysis of X-ray diffraction and NMR parameters gives accurate information about the molecular structure of both compounds. A numerical value of the anistropy cone of the P=S double bond is proposed. Keywords: phosphecine, NMR, X-ray, tricycle.

The crystals belong to the orthorhombic space group C222, with a = 9.226, b = 12.092, c = 16.513 Å, Z = 4. A single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis has shown that the title compound, in which all carbon atoms are sp2 hybridized, exists with the ten membered ring in a slightly twisted tub conformation. The 13C nmr spectrum is also reported.

The heterodinuclear complex [W(CO)5(Me2NCH2Fc)] (Fc = ferrocenyl) (1) resulting from the reaction of [(dimethylamino)methyl]ferrocene (2) and [W(CO)6] was studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Its molecular structure confirms the coordination of the amine nitrogen in 2 to tungsten (d(W-N) = 2.359(5) Å) and reveals its trans-influence in the W(CO)5 moiety. The structure is discussed in relation to several previously referred spectroscopic (IR, UV-VIS, 13C NMR) data.

The structure of the title compound was determined by the method of X-ray diffraction of single crystals. The substance crystallizes in the P21/c monoclinic space group. The structure was refined by the least squares method to R = 0.044 on the basis of 2 076 observed reflections. It was found that this compound is not a dicarboxylic acid but rather an intramolecularly cyclized lactam. The hydrogen phosphonato functional group participates in the betain form, while the carboxyl group is not ionized. The conformation of the six-membered oxopiperazine ring is similar to that of cyclohexane in which the peptidic group plays a similar role to the double bond.

Abstract The title compounds [R2NH2][C2O4SnMe3](R=i-Bu, Cy), in which tin atoms adopt a distorted trigonal bipyramidal configuration, have been prepared and submitted to an X-ray diffraction study. These compounds have been obtained from the reaction of (Cy2NH2)2C2O4·H2O or (i-Bu2NH2)2C2O4 with SnMe3Cl. In both [R2NH2][C2O4SnMe3] compounds, the trans complex has an almost regular trigonal bipyramidal geometry around the tin atom. The SnMe3 residues are connected as a chain with bridging oxalate anions in a trans-SnC3O2 framework, the oxygen atoms being in axial positions. The cations connect linear adjacent chains through NH…O hydrogen bonds giving layered structures.

Abstract The x-ray diffraction data at present available from β-gutta-percha are shown to be insufficient to distinguish fine details of molecular structure. Since a qualitative estimate of the intensities on the fibre diagram can be adequately satisfied by a model having normal interatomic distances and valency angles, no evidence exists for the improbable distortion of the methyl group out of the plane of the double bond previously ascribed to the molecule.

The title compound azobenzene-4, 4′-dicarbonyl chloride has been synthesized in distilled dichlomethane and characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N), IR and NMR (1H & 13C) studies. The crystal and molecular structure was further confirmed using single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It was crystallized in triclinic crystal system with space group P-1. The centrosymmetrically related molecules held together via C–H---O secondary interaction result in molecular aggregation of the compound.  Int. J. Appl. Sci. Biotechnol. Vol 6(2): 132-136
