The radical cations generated by exposure to 60Co γ rays, at 77 K. of dilute solutions of 1,4-dithiane, 1,5-dithiacyclooctane, and thiirane in freon matrices, have been investigated by ESR spectroscopy. The relation between the giso value and the S—S σ bond length is studied quantitatively.
