Concerning the preparation of anhydrous hydrogen peroxide

Preparation of pure anhydrous hydrogen peroxide has been attempted by a literature method which involves extraction of the aqueous solution with diethyl ether, followed by fractional distillation under vacuum. Mass spectrometric analysis shows that the product is seriously impure, and indicates that a reaction has occurred between the ether and hydrogen peroxide.
