The single-particle-energy spectrum of a Λ particle in nuclear matter is examined in the independent-pair approximation, by assuming nonlocal separable potentials for the ΛN interaction. Effects of short-range repulsion in the ΛN interaction on the Λ binding are also examined in terms of separable potentials of rank two.

We obtain the dimensionless coefficients of the single-particle energy density coming from the nonrelativistic limits of nonlinear relativistic hadronic point-coupling models for infinite nuclear matter at zero temperature, in order to analyze their naturalness, and compare them with some well known Skyrme parametrizations. The results show that the naturalness of these nonrelativistic models may be affected or not, depending on some parameters of the corresponding Skyrme models, such as σ and the incompressibility.
