Tabulation of glow-curve characteristics
A tabulation of the expected variation of the intensity of thermoluminescence glow curves with temperature is presented, based on a recent analysis due to Kelly and Laubitz. The temperatures at which the intensity equals one-half, two-thirds, and four-fifths of the peak intensity, on both sides of the maximum emission, have been calculated for both first- and second-order kinetics, over a trap-depth range of 0.1–1.5 eV. A linear heating rate has been assumed, and the temperatures of maximum emission vary from 100 to 700 °K. It is hoped that other workers in the thermoluminescence area will thus be enabled to analyze experimental data accurately without recourse to digital computing facilities.
