We review a model of D-term dominated chaotic inflation in supergravity. The F-flat direction present in this model is lifted by the dominant D-term, which leads to chaotic inflation and subsequent reheating. The leptogenesis scenario via the inflaton decay in this D-term chaotic inflation scenario is also discussed.

It is shown that the evolution of the universe in the chaotic inflation scenario has no end and may have no beginning. According to this scenario, the universe consists of an exponentially large number of different mini-universes inside which all possible metastable vacuum states and all possible types of compactifications are realized.

Chaotic Inflation

In frames of the chaotic inflation scenario the influence of the inhomogeneity of the inflationary universe on the primordial fluctuations spectrum is investigated. The phenomenon of the anisotropy of the observed large-scale structure is predicted. In particular this means that the two-point correlation function ξ(x) is anisotropic. An expected value of the anisotropy is about 10%. The observation of the anisotropy predicted could serve as confirmation to the chaotic inflation scenario.

A class of finite GUT's in curved space–time is considered in connection with the cosmological inflation scenario. It is confirmed that the use of the running scalar-gravitational coupling constant in these models helps realizing a successful chaotic inflation. The analyses are made for some different sets of the models.

We construct an inflation model on the Randall–Sundrum I (RSI) brane where a bulk scalar field stabilizes the inter-brane separation. We study impact of the bulk scalar field on the inflationary dynamics on the brane. We proceed in two different approaches: in the first approach, the stabilizing field potential is directly appeared in the Friedmann equation and the resulting scenario is effectively a two-field inflation. In the second approach, the stabilization mechanism is considered in the context of a warp factor so that there is just one field present that plays the roles of both inflaton and stabilizer. We study constraints imposed on the model parameters from recent observations.
