Identification of an intermediate of phloroglucinol degradation by mass spectroscopic analysis

The product of enzymatic reduction of phloroglucinol was tentatively identified as a dihydrophloroglucinol based on thin-layer chromatography and ultraviolet spectrum. Confirmatory evidence of its identity is presented by mass spectroscopic analysis.
