A small pteraspidid is the first vertebrate to be identified from the Lower Devonian Dalhousie Formation at Dalhousie, N.B. It supports a correlation of this formation with a red bed sequence in the eastern Cobequid Mountains and the Knoydart Formation in Nova Scotia, and is older than the Atholville Beds near Campbellton, N.B.
