Fossil plant compressions belonging to Isoetales have been discovered, for the first time, in clay from the Lower Cretaceous of Merbah el Asfer, Tataouine area (south Tunisia). The study of leafy corms and sporophylls has permitted us to attribute the fossils to the genus Isoetites Münster. The comparison between the known Mesozoic material leads to the description of a new species : I. daharensis nov.sp. Its affinities with Isoetes and with Triassic species show that the Isoetales were differentiated before the beginning of the Mesozoic era, and since then this lineage has shown little morphological variation. The good preservation of fossils is evidence of short transportation in a deltaic plain with sufficient moisture to permit the growth and development of these plants.Key words: Isoetales, Isoetites, Lower Cretaceous, Tunisia, phylogeny, palaeoecology.

Paratagalis zikani sp. nov. from Brazil is described. A revised diagnosis of Paratagalis Monte, 1943, is provided. Morphological variation and sexual dimorphism of Paratagalis spinosus Monte, 1943, are described for the first time. A key to the Saicinae genera of the New World is provided.

A New Species

The faunal composition of the Myanmar populations of frogs in the genus Leptobrachium has been confused historically. The secretive nature of these frogs in combination with few systematic surveys throughout Myanmar has meant that sampling is sparse, not allowing for robust examination of morphological variation. Recent survey efforts in conjunction with historical collections have yielded for the first time a chance to evaluate the diversity of the genus Leptobrachium within Myanmar. While three allopatric populations of Leptobrachium species were discovered and all are distinguishable based on morphological differences, genetic analyses support that only one is distinct. A new species with a red and black bi-colored iris with a blue scleral arc is described herein. In addition to the new species, a new country record is also reported.

Additional specimens of Neoperla caii Li & Wang, 2017 are recorded from Sichuan Province of southwestern China. Morphological variation in the adult male is discussed and illustrated. The adult female of N. caii is described and illustrated for the first time. In addition, a new species, Kamimuria petasus sp. nov. is described from Sichuan Province. The adult male of this new species is characterized by subtriangular basal callus on the hemitergal lobe and by the aedeagus with a hat-shaped apex.

The small Microgastrinae genus Venanides is recorded from Europe (Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic) for the first time, where one species, Venanides carcinae sp. nov., described here, proves to be a regular solitary parasitoid of Carcina quercana. Outline notes on its biology, phenology and abundance are given.

The oribatid mite subgenus Scheloribates (Topobates) Grandjean, 1958, is recorded from the Neotropical region for the first time. A new species of this subgenus is described from the leaf litter collected in Cayo Agua Island, Panama. Scheloribates (Topobates) panamaensis sp. nov. differs from its related species by the very large body size and presence of a strong ventrodistal process on the leg femora II–IV.

The Palaearctic species of the genus Trichardis Hermann, 1906 are reviewed. A new species, T. lehri sp. nov., is described. A new synonymy is established: T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) = T. afanasievae Lehr, 1964, syn. nov. The male of T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 is described for the first time. External features and the male genitalia of T. lehri sp. nov., T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) and T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 are illustrated with photographs.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).

The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 is recorded from Afrotropical Region for the first time. A description of a new species, Systenus africanus Grichanov sp. nov., and notes on females of another probably new Afrotropical species are provided. The genus is considered now as cosmopolitan. The genus Agrisius Walker (1855) is reported for the first time in Cambodia, for the new species Agrisius nigripunctata sp. n. Additionally, Agrisius fuliginosus is reported for the first time in Laos, Myanmar, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Illustrations of the adult and genitalia of Agrisius nigripunctata sp. n. and A. fuliginosus Moore are presented.
