The history of Pyrenophora Fr. was reviewed with special reference to Pleospora Rab. It was concluded that the two genera are distinct. The following characteristics were found to be of diagnostic value for Pyrenophora: ascocarps very large, sclerotioid, slow-maturing, usually setose, occurring on grasses; ascospores large, nearly cylindrical with rounded ends, with 3–5–7 transverse septa, and a longitudinal septum in from one to all cells depending on species. In addition, the known conidial states of Pyrenophora were noted to be species of the hyphomycete genus Drechslera Ito.An authenticated specimen of P. phaeocomes from the Fries Herbarium was used as a neotype in the apparent absence of Rebentisch's specimen. Numerous ascospores were found among the immature ascocarps on the leaves, and taken as evidence that the fungus is an ascomycete. The conidial-state association was tenuously confirmed by the presence of one Drechslera conidium. It was concluded that the name Pyrenophora can be used for the genus of ascomycetes typified by P. phaeocomes.

North- East India is an under veiled region with an awe-inspiring landscape, different groups of ethnic people, their culture and heritage. Contemporary writers from this region aspire towards a vision outside the tapered ethnic channel, and they represent a shared history. In their writings, the cultural memory is showcased, and the intensity of feeling overflows the labour of technique and craft. Mamang Dai presents a rare glimpse into the ecology, culture, life of the tribal people and history of the land of the dawn-lit mountains, Arunachal Pradesh, through her novel The Legends of Pensam. The word ‘Pensam’ in the title means ‘in-between’,  but it may also be interpreted as ‘the hidden spaces of the heart’. This is a small world where anything can happen. Being adherents of the animistic faith, the tribes here believe in co-existence with the natural world along with the presence of spirits in their forests and rivers. This paper attempts to draw an insight into the culture and gender of the Arunachalis with special reference to The Legends of Pensam by Mamang Dai.

Clare is situated in the south-west corner of Suffolk, in the valley of the Stour River. At the present day it is only a village, for its market is no longer held; yet its history shows that in earlier times it was of considerable importance, especially during the medieval period, when it was a favourite residence of the Clare lords. The town then had a busy market and a flourishing cloth-making industry; and at one time it seemed possible that Clare might attain full development as a borough, possessing as it did some burghal characteristics. In the following pages it is proposed to study in detail the history of Clare as a seignorial borough during the Middle Ages, and its subsequent development.

The clinical, laboratory and pathologic findings of a series of cases of cat scratch syndrome have been reviewed. In spite of a variable clinical course, certain features associated with a selected group of laboratory tests appear to be constant enough to be of diagnostic value. A history of contact with a cat and/or scratch which is usually associated with a peripheral skin lesion, lack of lymphangitis, presence of regional lymphadenopathy with tenderness to palpation are the most constant clinical findings. Fever, so frequently emphasized as a characteristic clinical sign, may be extremely variable in type and duration or entirely absent. A skin test with cat scratch antigen has been positive in all cases. Lacking this antigen, a negative Frei skin test in conjunction with a positive complement fixation test (Lygranum C. F.) is suggestive evidence for the diagnosis. With positive evidence from the above data, biopsy of an affected gland with its relatively nonspecific pathologic picture is not considered essential for the establishment of the diagnosis of cat scratch syndrome.
