This paper discusses spectral and spectral element methods with Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto nodal basis for general 2nd-order elliptic eigenvalue problems. The special work of this paper is as follows. (1) We prove a priori and a posteriori error estimates for spectral and spectral element methods. (2) We compare between spectral methods, spectral element methods, finite element methods and their derivedp-version,h-version, andhp-version methods from accuracy, degree of freedom, and stability and verify that spectral methods and spectral element methods are highly efficient computational methods.

Abstract In this paper we investigate the existence, multiplicity and asymptotic behavior of positive solution for the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equations. We exploiting the relationship between the Nehari manifold and eigenvalue problems to discuss how the Nehari manifold changes as parameters μ, λ changes and show how existence, multiplicity and asymptotic results for positive solutions of the equation are linked to properties of the manifold.

Abstract Some classes of generalized Schrödinger stationary problems are studied. Under appropriated conditions is proved the existence of at least 1 + $\begin{array}{} \sum_{i=2}^{m} \end{array}$ dim Vλi pairs of nontrivial solutions if a parameter involved in the equation is large enough, where Vλi denotes the eigenspace associated to the i-th eigenvalue λi of laplacian operator with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition.

The Given

In this paper, by using the gauge transformation and the Lax pairs, the N-fold Darboux transformation (DT) of the classical three-component nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations is given. In addition, by taking seed solutions and using the DT, exact solutions for the given NLS equations are constructed.
