ABSTRACTWe report the complete organelle genome sequences ofTrebouxiophyceaesp. strain MX-AZ01, an acidophilic green microalga isolated from a geothermal field in Mexico. This eukaryote has the remarkable ability to thrive in a particular shallow lake with emerging hot springs at the bottom, extremely low pH, and toxic heavy metal concentrations.Trebouxiophyceaesp. MX-AZ01 represents one of few described photosynthetic eukaryotes living in such a hostile environment. The organelle genomes ofTrebouxiophyceaesp. MX-AZ01 are remarkable. The plastid genome sequence currently presents the highest G+C content for a trebouxiophyte. The mitochondrial genome sequence is the largest reported to date for theTrebouxiophyceaeclass of green algae. The analysis of the genome sequences presented here provides insight into the evolution of organelle genomes of trebouxiophytes and green algae.

Genomic long reads of the interspecific grapevine rootstock cultivar ‘Börner’ (Vitis riparia GM183 × Vitis cinerea Arnold) were used to assemble its chloroplast and mitochondrion genome sequences. We annotated 133 chloroplast and 172 mitochondrial genes, including the RNA editing sites. The organelle genomes in ‘Börner’ were maternally inherited from Vitis riparia.

ABSTRACT Streptococcus mutans is known to produce various antimicrobial peptides called mutacins. Two clinical isolates, T8 and UA140, are well characterized regarding their mutacin production, but genome sequence information was previously unavailable. Complete genome sequences of these two mutacin-producing strains are reported here.

ABSTRACT Recently, we reported the draft genome sequence of Streptococcus gallolyticus NTS31106099. It was found to contain a previously unknown putative Tn916-like conjugative transposon, Tn6263. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of two other clinical isolates, NTS31301958 and NTS31307655. Both of them contain another novel element, Tn6331, which is highly similar to Tn6263.

ABSTRACT Green algae of the phylum Chlorophyta are the most widespread autotrophic picoplankton in Lake Baika (Russia). To expand our molecular biological knowledge of these microalgae and compare them in the future with an endosymbiotic strain, we present here the draft genome sequence of Chlorella sp. strain BAC9706.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.

ABSTRACT Scenedesmus acuminatus, also known as Tetradesmus acuminatus, is a promising green microalga for sustainable production of microalga products, including valuable compounds such as astaxanthin, β-carotene, and lutein, polysaccharides such as β-glucan, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Here, we report the draft whole-genome sequence of Scenedesmus acuminatus SAG 38.81.

Here, we describe the draft genome sequences of three strains of Citrobacter isolated from feces of preterm neonates with suspected sepsis. Strains P106E PI and P079F I were Citrobacter freundii. Strain P080C CL represents the first draft genome sequence of Citrobacter murliniae.

ABSTRACTBrucella canisinfects several species of animals, and canine is the preferred host. Genome sequences of strains from different hosts are valuable for comparative analysis of host adaptation and microevolution. Here, we report the genome sequence ofBrucella canisstrain 118, a strain isolated from canine.

ABSTRACT We present here the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus pyogenes type emm111 strain GUR, a throat isolate from a scarlet fever patient, which has been used to treat cancer patients in the former Soviet Union. We also present the complete genome sequence of its derivative strain GURSA1 with an inactivated emm gene.

ABSTRACT We report the complete genome sequence of the Campylobacter concisus type strain ATCC 33237 and the draft genome sequences of eight additional well-characterized C. concisus strains. C. concisus has been shown to be a genetically heterogeneous species, and these nine genomes provide valuable information regarding the diversity within this taxon.
