Hydrogel-polymer hybrids have been widely used for various applications such as biomedical devices and flexible electronics. However, the current technologies constrain the geometries of hydrogel-polymer hybrid to laminates consisting of hydrogel with silicone rubbers. This greatly limits functionality and performance of hydrogel-polymer–based devices and machines. Here, we report a simple yet versatile multimaterial 3D printing approach to fabricate complex hybrid 3D structures consisting of highly stretchable and high–water content acrylamide-PEGDA (AP) hydrogels covalently bonded with diverse UV curable polymers. The hybrid structures are printed on a self-built DLP-based multimaterial 3D printer. We realize covalent bonding between AP hydrogel and other polymers through incomplete polymerization of AP hydrogel initiated by the water-soluble photoinitiator TPO nanoparticles. We demonstrate a few applications taking advantage of this approach. The proposed approach paves a new way to realize multifunctional soft devices and machines by bonding hydrogel with other polymers in 3D forms.

The high water content of heavy oil emulsions are O / W or W / O unstable estate, to solve the problem of heavy oil wells in the viscosity, after a large number of laboratory tests, a water-soluble drag reduction agent(DRA) with excellent drag reducing effect for high water heavy oil well is developed. The water-soluble DRA does not have combustible nature and solves also the problem of the security risk commonly used lower flash point viscosity reducing agent in paraffin oil well. The formulations and preparation method of the water-soluble drag reduction agent are introduced and the field applications are evaluated in this paper. The applications of more than 110 oil wells in Fifth Oil Production Plant in North China Oilfield have shown that the heavy oil viscosity reduction and drag reduction effects of water-soluble DRA are remarkable, and the hot wash cycle of oil well is prolonged.

Japan is a supper-aged society, and many older adults need home care. To provide meals safely at home, the viscosity of meals suitable for the elderly required. Therefore, in this study, the viscosity was measured by combining two types of thickeners that can purchase at pharmacies and three types of care foods. The thickener used this time has almost the same price and content, but the many included material is different. Thickener A was rich in water-soluble dietary fiber, and thickener B was rich in thickening polysaccharides. The three types of foods were foods with high carbohydrate content, high lipid content, and high water content. As a result, thickening agent B, which is rich in thickening polysaccharides, was able to maintain the viscosity better than thickening agent A if a thickening agent added at a low (100g food per 1g thickening) concentration to foods rich in lipids and water. However, when the addition amount of the thickener was large, the thickener A and the thickener B showed almost the same viscosity. It will be necessary to increase the number of samples and clarify the differences due to the combinations.

In the absence of water-soluble photoinitiators with high absorbance in the ultraviolet (UV)–visible range, rapid three-dimensional (3D) printing of hydrogels for tissue engineering is challenging. A new approach enabling rapid 3D printing of hydrogels in aqueous solutions is presented on the basis of UV-curable inks containing nanoparticles of highly efficient but water-insoluble photoinitiators. The extinction coefficient of the new water-dispersible nanoparticles of 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl-diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO) is more than 300 times larger than the best and most used commercially available water-soluble photoinitiator. The TPO nanoparticles absorb significantly in the range from 385 to 420 nm, making them suitable for use in commercially available, low-cost, light-emitting diode–based 3D printers using digital light processing. The polymerization rate at this range is very fast and enables 3D printing that otherwise is impossible to perform without adding solvents. The TPO nanoparticles were prepared by rapid conversion of volatile microemulsions into water-dispersible powder, a process that can be used for a variety of photoinitiators. Such water-dispersible photoinitiator nanoparticles open many opportunities to enable rapid 3D printing of structures prepared in aqueous solutions while bringing environmental advantages by using low-energy curing systems and avoiding the need for solvents.

The article provides information about the features of spring feeding of sterlet in the spawning grounds of the middle course of the Northern Dvina river in may 2019. The main and secondary groups of forage objects in the diet of this species of sturgeon are characterized. The article considers the variability of the sterlet food composition with an increase in the size of fish from 30 to 60 cm. In the process of fish growth in the diet of the Severodvinsk sterlet, the main components in terms of occurrence and mass in all size groups are the larvae of Brooks and chironomids. A minor occurrence was the larvae of midges, biting midges, stoneflies, mayflies and small clams. To random and seasonal food are the larvae of water bugs, butterflies, flies, beetles and eggs of other fish. The feeding intensity of the smaller sterlet (30–40 cm) was significantly higher than that of the fish in the size groups 40–50 and 50–60 cm. Fundamental changes in the diet of the Severodvinsk sterlet for the main food objects for more than sixty years of observations have not been established. During periods of high water content of the Northern Dvina due to seasonal changes in the structure of benthic communities, the value of Brooks in the diet of sterlet increases and the proportion of chironomids decreases.
