We have found a way of a pipeline transportation of soft clay in order to overcome the difficulties to transport soft clay so that the long distance transportation of soft clay becomes true in Engineering. By analyzing the properties of soft clay and pipeline transportation, the rules of decreasing energy through the pipeline transportation, and the characters of flow field with gas, liquid and mud, we have obtained a mathematical model for the pipeline transportation of soft clay. The model not only builds up a theory for the non-continuous soft clay column pipeline transportation techniques but also leads to further developments and wider applications of the pipeline transportation of soft clay.

In generally, there are multiple factories. According to mining areas, it supplies different quality iron ore concentrate. And according to the unique requirements of owners, different grades concentrate cannot be confused. Therefore, the grade of slurry pipeline transportation is needed to be used. When in the study of grade transmission, we must focus on Hydraulic characteristics of solid-liquid two-phase for different quality of iron ore concentrate. Slurry concentration and Critical velocity of flow is especially important. Research shows that the deposition rate of laminar or turbulent transition velocity is higher than the occasion when the slurry has concentration, so the minimum operating speed is controlled by sedimentation; the concentration lower limit is 62%. If the concentration is over 68%, the yield stress of slurry will increase, and the pipeline pressure will drop, which is very sensitive to slight changes in concentration. Therefore, the solid weight concentration range is 62% to 68%,as the selection range of design.

The change law of basic paste material performance in the pipeline must be studied to verify long distance transportation in coal mine after the ratio of paste material is completed. This paper introduced simulation system which was developed by us and the pipeline transportation experiment was done. The change law of paste material parameters was studied including collapsed slump, segregation degree and density with pipeline experiment. And the contents of this paper could provide theoretical guidance for field paste filling.

While high steel grade X70, X80 pipeline has been widely used in long-distance oil and gas pipeline engineering of China, to further improve steel grade to X90 is an effective way to increase the efficiency of pipeline transportation and reduce construction cost. In this paper, the failure probability of earthquake fault crossing of X90 pipeline has been calculated with the strain-based reliability design method and the design scheme has been adjusted according to sensitivity analysis with influence factors of the failure probability of fault-crossing of X90 pipeline, after that the scheme of fault-crossing of X90 pipeline which meets requirements of pipeline reliability has been figured out. This study has laid a theoretical foundation for the application of X90 pipeline in future construction of pipeline engineering.
