The paper presents the results of comparative study on optical activity of oils in Absheron kupesi field related to Absheron oil-gas bearing region and 50 оС oil fractions from Azeri and Chirag fields. 50 оС fractions of studied Absheron kupesi oil were divided into naphthenic-paraffin, aromatic hydrocarbons and asphaltene compounds via the method of liquid chromatographic adsorption. Optical activity of dearomatized fractions (naphtenic-paraffin hydrocarbons) was measured in various wave lengths with Perkin-Elmer-40 and Polamat A polarimeters. Obtained results were compared to the optical activity of dearomatized fractions of same Azeri and Chirag fields in previously explored oil-gas bearing region. The results justify that the optical activity increases by rising of boiling temperature in all fractions. Optical activity was not observed in 150–200 оС fractions of these oils.
