The main objectives of the present paper are to adaptation the five-kinetic model of the catalytic cracking process and simulation the riser to predicts the FCC products yields when one of the major input variable of the process is change. The simulation and adaptation are based on the industrial data from Romanian refinery. The adaptation is realize using a computational method from Optimization Toolbox from Matlab programming language. The new model can be used for optimization and control of FCC riser.

At the time of image processing where we only need a certain part of an image according to the needs called the Region of Interest (ROI), in order to obtain that, the processing is carried out in a cropping process. Cropping is mostly done by researchers, especially those who research in the field of image processing in order to do data processing on an image, the results of cropping process on an image are usually done to make it easier for researchers to focus on something that is needed only. In this study is to compare existing cropping methods to get a motif found in an image of West Sumatra songket fabric. In this study using the method of cropping rectangle, square, circle, ellipse, polygon and tested using the Matlab programming language. The results of comparison of 5 cropping methods for taking certain motifs on the songket image with 5 different songket image samples, shows that the best results are obtained by using the polygon method. Polygon method can reach certain coordinate points in a songket image, so that the results of cropping are better and other motives that are carried along during the cropping process can be reduced.

This chapter gives an introductory to intermediate level text on the science of image processing. It employs the Matlab programming language to illustrate some of the elementary key concepts in modern image processing and pattern recognition. The approach taken is essentially practical and the chapter offers a framework within which the concepts can be understood by a series of well-chosen examples, exercises and computer experiments, drawing on specific examples from within science, medicine and engineering. Particularly, the modern applications such as agriculture, aquaculture, food industrial analysis and Hyperspectral images analysis are discussed in this chapter with illustrations using Matlab.

In this paper a program developed in MATLAB programming language to aid in the design of all-pole active filters using operational amplifiers is presented. The filter structure chosen was the Sallen-Key that furnishes a filter with low sensitivity to element tolerances and it is easy to implement in hardware.

Configuration and algorithm of BP neural network and characteristics of MATLAB programming language are introduced in this article. Establishing BP neural network becomes easy with relevant functions of design, training and simulation of neural network provided by neural network tool kit of MATLAB. Users can call relevant programs according to their own requirements without being bothered about writing huge amount of algorithm programs. This paper discusses the methods and procedure of designing BP neural network with MATLAB neural network tool kit in detail. Optimization of combustion characteristic of Mg/PTFE fuel-rich pyrotechnical propellant was taken as an example to verify the feasibility of the approach.

Along with the rapid development of diagnostic imaging equipment, software for medical image processing has played an important role in helping doctors and clinicians to reach accurate diagnoses. In this paper, methods to build a multipurpose tool based on Matlab programming language and its applications are presented. This new tool features enhancement, segmentation, registration and 3D reconstruction for medical images obtained from commonly used diagnostic imaging equipment.

Formations or groups of robots become essential in cases where a single robot is insufficient to satisfy a given task. With an increasingly automated world, studies on various topics related to robotics have been carried out in both the industrial and academic arenas. In this paper, the control of the formation of differential mobile robots based on the leader-follower approach is presented. The leader's movement is based on the least cost path obtained by the A-star algorithm, thus ensuring a safe and shortest possible route for the leader. Follower robots track the leader's position in real time. Based on this information and the desired distance and angle values, the leader robot is followed. To ensure that the followers do not collide with each other and with the obstacles in the environment, a controller based on Artificial Potential Fields is designed. Stability analysis using Lyapunov theory is performed on the linearized model of the system. To verify the implemented technique, a simulator was designed using the MATLAB programming language. Seven experiments are conducted under different conditions to show the performance of the approach. The distance and orientation errors are less than 0.1 meters and 0.1 radians, respectively. Overall, mobile robots are able to reach the goal position, maintaining the desired formation, in finite time.

Abstract. Observational and modeling studies suggest that Earth's tropical belt has widened over the late 20th century and will continue to widen throughout the 21st century. Yet estimates of tropical width variations differ significantly across studies. This uncertainty, to an unknown degree, is partly due to the large variety of methods used in studies of the tropical width. Here, methods for eight commonly-used metrics of the tropical width are implemented in a Tropical-width Diagnostics code package (TropD) in the MATLAB programming language. To consolidate the various methods, the operations used in each of the implemented methods are reduced to two basic calculations: finding the latitude of a zero crossing, and finding the latitude of a maximum. A detailed description of the methods implemented in the code and of the code syntax is provided, followed by a method sensitivity analysis for each of the metrics. The analysis provides information on how to reduce the methodological component of the uncertainty associated with fundamental aspects of the calculations, such as monthly vs. seasonal averaging biases, grid dependence, sensitivity to noise, and sensitivity to threshold criteria.

Snag is a MatLab toolbox, developed in the Rome Virgo group, to analyse gravitational data and develop detection methods. It is written using the OOP features of last versions of MatLab programming language and contains a large number of functions, most of which can be accessed by a GUI. Data_Browser is a GUI Snag application to access gravitational antenna sampled data in files.
