This study proposes a compound control method based on sliding mode and active disturbance rejection control to address the difficulty of controlling the cutting head for boom-type roadheader with parameter changes and uncertain disturbances. The fastest discrete tracking differentiator and extended state observer based on the traditional active disturbance rejection control are designed. Additionally, the controller of the sliding mode and active disturbance rejection control is constructed. Theoretical analysis indicates that the proposed controller ensures asymptotic stability, despite the existing uncertain disturbances. Moreover, a system based on AMESim and MATLAB/Simulink Co-simulation model is developed to further verify the performance of proposed algorithm. Compared with traditional active disturbance rejection control, proportional-integral-derivative(PID) and sliding mode control, co-simulation results demonstrate that the sliding mode active disturbance rejection compound control improves the tracking accuracy and robustness of the position servo system.

This paper presents a technique for the position servo system of numerical control (NC) machine tool by utilizing the optimal quadratic controller. The mathematical model of the position servo control system is structured, which of the plant model is identified by making use of recursive least square method. The fundamental method of designing the optimal quadratic controller is proposed. Simulation of the optimal quadratic controller and PID controller are implemented by using MATLAB. The results of simulation show that the proposed control method of positional servo control system has better dynamic characteristics and better steady performance.

Because hydraulic actuator has higher power and force density, it is normally used in heavy load manipulator robots and industrial equipment which require high torque. Also, the hydraulic actuator is applied to underwater robots that need high performance maneuver in underwater operations. The force control has benefits to those kind of robots to ensure compliance with user or environment. However, the hydraulic actuator is difficult to control forces due to the non-linearity characteristic of the hydraulic servo system. In this paper, we propose a force control method with compensation of force derivative and natural velocity feedback. We also describe a method of applying it to the real system. In order to evaluate the effect of the proposed control method, the simulations and experiments were performed.

In order to against the uncertain disturbance of AC linear servo system, an H mixed sensitivity control method based on adaptive fuzzy control was putted forward in the paper. The controller is comprised of an adaptive fuzzy controller and a H robust controller, the adaptive fuzzy controller is used to approximate this ideal control law, H robust controller is designed for attenuating the approximation errors and the influence of the external disturbance. The experimental results show that this control strategy not only has a strong robustness to uncertainties of the linear system, but also has a good tracking performance, furthermore the control greatly improves the robust tracking precision of the direct drive linear servo system.

A structure mode of virtual compound-axis servo system is proposed to improve the tracking accuracy of the ordinary optoelectric tracking platform. It is based on the structure and principles of compound-axis servo system. A hybrid position control scheme combining the PD controller and feed-forward controller is used in subsystem to track the tracking error of the main system. This paper analyzes the influences of the equivalent disturbance in main system and proposes an adaptive sliding mode robust control method based on the improved disturbance observer. The sliding mode technique helps this disturbance observer to deal with the uncompensated disturbance in high frequency by making use of the rapid switching control value, which is based on the subtle error of disturbance estimation. Besides, the high-frequency chattering is alleviated effectively in this proposal. The effectiveness of the proposal is confirmed by experiments on optoelectric tracking platform.

In this paper, a synchrodrive scheme for dual linear motors position servo system in gantry moving type milling machine is presented. The feedforward control, disturbance observer and electrical cross coupled control algorithm based on fuzzy PID are applied to the position servo system to counteract the influence of mechanical coupling rapidly, and then meet dynamic synchronized performance in machining. From the simulated, the results show that the proposed control method is effective and yield superior performance.

To control the distance between the side scan sonar and the seabed, a permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM) servo system is designed, and the overall structure of the system and the design scheme of each part are presented. The maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) vector control method is adopted to enhance the power factor and dynamic performances of the system, and based on MTPA vector control method, according to the harmful effects of the dynamic load in the servo control of sonar, the sliding mode variable structure (SMVS) vector control method is proposed, and the robustness of the servo system is effectively improved. The mechanism of the MTPA and SMVS vector control method is demonstrated in detail, and their effectiveness is verified.

Friction is the main factor which degrades the control precisions of the servo system. In this paper, a cross coupled control method based on RBF neural network and disturbance observer is proposed for multi-axis servo system with LuGre friction, in order to implement high precision tracking and contouring control. Firstly, a feedback linearization controller is designed to realize the position stable tracking for single-axis motion; then, the disturbance observer is used to observe and compensate the friction. However, in practical application, the observation gain is difficult to select, and it is easy to cause observation error. In order to enhance the tracking accuracy and system robustness, the RBF neural network is introduced to approximate the disturbance observation error online. Finally, the cross coupled control is used to coordinate the motion between the axes to improve the contour accuracy. The simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively compensate the influence of friction on the system, has good tracking accuracy and high contour control precision.
