The system of customer-oriented product cooperative design(COPCD) provides a platform for customers, on which the customer designers can participate in the cooperative design activity. Through researching on the structure of cooperative design system platform based on internet/intranet, the function, which is expressed with STEP standard file and online display via network, modified as well , in the form of product model created in Pro/E, was achieved by making use of VC++6.0 programming language and OpenGL technology. Moreover, the communication tool NetMeeting was integrated in this platform interface for the communication in the process of cooperative design activities. This system platform conceptually implements the cooperation between customer and designer, the product design efficiency and its success rate would be improved.

The construction of the expressway network has brought great convenience to the people’s travel, and it also brings the hidden danger of driving safety, especially the snow and ice problem in winter which threatens the safety of the people’s life and property. In order to solve the problem of dark(black)ice on the pavement safely, quickly, efficiently and conveniently, this study has developed a self melting ice fine surface treatment technology with the combination of the preventive maintenance mask technology and the self melting ice technology, which will have a definite effect on the deicing technology of the highway pavement in winter.

Weed Science is facing two critical challenges. They are funding and interdisciplinary research, which to some extent are intertwined, but I will attempt to discuss them separately. Although some of my remarks may be critical of weed scientists let me say at the outset that the main reason we have these two challenges is because we have been highly successful, thanks to our visionary and dedicated scientists over the years. We have stayed ahead of the curve and have done too good a job. I would like to point out here that contrary to the beliefs of many outside our profession, we do more than spray and pray. We are ahead of the curve because we have conducted extensive and intensive research on application technology, formulations, environmental impacts, metabolism, mode of action, tillage practices, and many other areas.
