A relatively new entry, in the field of microscopy, is the Scanning X-Ray Fluorescence Microscope (SXRFM). Using this type of instrument (e.g. Kevex Omicron X-ray Microprobe), one can obtain multiple elemental x-ray images, from the analysis of materials which show heterogeneity. The SXRFM obtains images by collimating an x-ray beam (e.g. 100 μm diameter), and then scanning the sample with a high-speed x-y stage. To speed up the image acquisition, data is acquired "on-the-fly" by slew-scanning the stage along the x-axis, like a TV or SEM scan. To reduce the overhead from "fly-back," the images can be acquired by bi-directional scanning of the x-axis. This results in very little overhead with the re-positioning of the sample stage. The image acquisition rate is dominated by the x-ray acquisition rate. Therefore, the total x-ray image acquisition rate, using the SXRFM, is very comparable to an SEM. Although the x-ray spatial resolution of the SXRFM is worse than an SEM (say 100 vs. 2 μm), there are several other advantages.

This study aims to identify the dominant factors of the successful implementation of benchmarking on the performance of contracting companies and test the significance of the application of benchmarking on the performance of contracting companies. The research sample was saturated samples of 65 qualified contractor companies. The method and type of research used were correlational methods of multiple regression analysis using SPPS. The results of the study concluded that 1.Benchmarking significantly influences the performance of contracting companies in the Blitar City DPUPR; 1. The ranking of success factors for the Blitar City contractor companies in the process of implementing benchmarking (1) planning, (2) data collection, (3) acception and action and (4) analysis; 2.Benchmarking has proven to significantly improve company performance as measured by increasing (1) Corporate Finance (2) Company productivity, (3) DPUPR Consumer Satisfaction, (4) Community Satisfaction, (5) Quality of the company's construction technical personnel, (6) Satisfaction employee work, (7) Project acquisition rate in one year, (8) Effective completion of construction work, (9) Construction product quality.

This study compared a picture exchange (PE) system and an iPad®-based speech generating device (SGD) when teaching requesting skills to preschoolers with developmental disabilities and limited functional speech. A multiple baseline design with counterbalancing the order of two instruction conditions across participants was applied to compare the acquisition rate, followed by a concurrent operant arrangement to examine participants’ preference for these two augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Discrimination of two picture symbols presented via the priority AAC system was also probed using a concurrent operant arrangement. Results indicated that two of three participants required less sessions to reach mastery for the iPad®-based instruction condition. All participants showed a clear preference for the iPad®-based SGD and were able to discriminate between two picture symbols presented simultaneously on the iPad®-based SGD when making requests. This study highlights practice implications in terms of describing a systematic approach that could be employed when identifying a priority AAC system for learners with developmental disabilities and limited functional speech.

Abstract Background USA300 MRSA is endemic in certain communities, with congregate settings such as urban jails potentially facilitating spread. The extent of MRSA transmission in jail is unclear, a controversy that impacts prevention strategies. We determined the prevalence of MRSA colonization at jail entrance and defined the acquisition rate during incarceration. Methods Men incarcerated at the Cook County Jail, one of the largest US single-site jails, were enrolled within 72 hours of intake. Surveillance cultures (nares, throat, groin) were collected to determine prevalence of MRSA colonization. A survey was administered to identify predictors of colonization. Detainees still in jail at Day30 had cultures repeated to determine MRSA acquisition rate. Univariate and multivariate analysis was performed to identify predictors of MRSA colonization. Results A total o 402 men (447 unique incarcerations) have so far been enrolled (77% AA, 11% Hispanic) with 92% previously in jail (20% in past 6 months). The prevalence of MRSA colonization at intake was 18.6% (83/447), with 39% of those colonized solely in the throat or groin. At 30 days: 10% (9/92) of initially negative men acquired MRSA; 14 admission positives remained colonized while 11 lost colonization. On univariate (Table), predictors of MRSA colonization at entrance to the jail were: methamphetamine use (METH), unstable housing, current skin infection, and care at an outpatient Clinic A that emphasizes comprehensive care to the LGBTQ community. In this cohort, METH use was associated with reporting being a man who has sex with men vs. not (35% vs. 9%, P < 0.001) and was common among men with care at Clinic A (18% vs. 3%, P < 0.001). On multivariate with adjustment for race/ethnicity and HIV status, current skin infection and care at clinic A were associated with MRSA. Preliminarily, sharing personal items was associated with MRSA acquisition at Day30 (OR = 5.6, 95% CI,1.3, 23.3, P = 0.02). Conclusion We found that a relatively high proportion of individuals enter the jail colonized with MRSA and the jail may amplify rates. Entrance colonization risk factors point to possible community reservoirs. Enrollment is ongoing but results suggest an intervention in jail could impact MRSA rates in the jail and in the surrounding community. Disclosures M. Autoregressive (AR2) technique has always been used to estimate frequency of the output signal from Large ring laser. However, the acquisition rate is not at near real time which is the requirement and noise level still challenge the process resulting to errors in the final estimation. A research was done to compare the Autoregressive (AR2) with the counterparts such as Pisarenko, Quinn, Hilbert and Phase looking for a better technique that will estimate the frequency at near real time to minimize errors. Secondary data from G and C – II ring laser were used during the comparison between the techniques and Autoregressive (AR2). Results shows that, the output characteristics from the counterpart does not depict the oscillations of the Earth rotation as expected contrast to that of Autoregressive (AR2) which does. Moreover, there were much deviation from the expected true value for the techniques contrast to that of AR2 which is very minimum. On the other hand, when the C – II data were used, it was observed that both techniques resemble on their output characteristics though AR2 was still better in the acquisition rate expect for Hilbert transform which does not resemble with others. Following the scope of this paper, Autoregressive (AR2) technique still emerge as a favorite frequency estimation technique contrast to the four counterparts due to its robustness, high acquisition rate as well as low noise level.
