Based on the contrast analysis of loads provided in foreign and China standards, analysis and discussion are mentioned about the definition and estimation of dynamic wind pressures for multi-span greenhouse structural design in details. Meanwhile, taking advantage of past experience in greenhouse structural design a practical method which can be used in greenhouse design was given for wind loads. Under the present conditions, it is relative safety in calculation wind loads according to Load code for the design of building structures (GB 50009-2001), yet it is unnecessary to make modification of statistical reappearing factor in calculation wind load-dynamic pressure when considering the coefficients of wind pressure depending on height and the gust factor according to Greenhouse structure design load (GB/T 18622-2002).

Wind loads on buildings are evaluated by using codes and standards. They are based on wind tunnel tests, which are performed on an isolated model in open exposure. Measurements by several researchers have shown that wind loads on real objects are considerably different than those on an isolated building. Structures around building decrease or increase the forces on building. This effect is termed interference. Interference includes geometry, layout and orientation of surrounding objects. Further aspects are direction of the wind and terrain conditions. For this reason it is necessary to evaluate interference before planning. The aim of the article is to overview the recent research, comparison between an isolated building and a group of buildings, to name the interference parameters and explain how they modify the forces on building. Also attempt to provide general recommendations for elementary models because this problem has large number of variations, especially for complicated models where it is necessary to evaluate the specific type of building. These recommendations should be used by designers and planners of the buildings.

Abstract The Romanian, as well as other wind design codes for building structures, provides with limited degree of accuracy, the aerodynamic loads distribution on buildings up to 200 meters tall in an equivalent static approach (ESWL). For tall wind-sensitive building structures, especially for those with irregular shapes, most of the codes or standards recommend for design to use pressure data recorded in the wind tunnel. The ESWL approach is however used as reference estimation and structural first phase design. Advances on experimental and computational capabilities, led in the past decade to a significant development of time-domain analysis framework, both for seismic and wind loads. While the major outcome for earthquake engineering practitioners is to select appropriate design input ground motions at a particular site, the wind engineering practitioners are facing numerical difficulties to handle large wind loading durations, especially dealing with nonlinear-induced effects. The paper presents a real-time integrated framework for the analysis and design of tall buildings to wind loads, based on the time-domain analysis tool, as a prerequisite for higher level modules as vulnerability, risk and loss estimation, and optimization analyses.
