There are many scenarios where high resolution, wide field of view video is useful. Such panorama video may be generated using camera arrays where the feeds from multiple cameras pointing at different parts of the captured area are stitched together. However, processing the different steps of a panorama video pipeline in real-time is challenging due to the high data rates and the stringent timeliness requirements. In our research, we use panorama video in a sport analysis system called Bagadus. This system is deployed at Alfheim stadium in Tromsø, and due to live usage, the video events must be generated in real-time. In this paper, we describe our real-time panorama system built using a low-cost CCD HD video camera array. We describe how we have implemented different components and evaluated alternatives. The performance results from experiments ran on commodity hardware with and without co-processors like graphics processing units (GPUs) show that the entire pipeline is able to run in real-time.

Abstract Visualizing hydrogenation processes in metals in real-time is important to various hydrogen-involved applications. However, observing hydrogen diffusion was limited by transmission electron microscopy, and the kinetics of hydrogenation in the interior of the metals was not reported. Here we proposed an optical microscopy-based visualization of palladium hydrogenation from diffusion surface to the interior by introducing a fast-response mechanical platform that transforms the hydrogen diffusion into self-organized ordered wrinkles with sharp optical contrast. This platform is an Au/Pd double layer on elastomer which results in directional hydrogenation from sidewall to the interior. The kinetics of hydrogenation in the interior of the palladium along the diffusion direction was monitored in real-time. This platform will enable in-situ visualization of atom/ion diffusion on metals that are crucial in energy storage and hydrogen detection.

Abstract Previously, well monitoring in Siak block relied on production crew scheduled tour that needed six hours to complete one cycle of all wells in Lindai field. This paper describes the utilization of digital technology to observe well parameters while sending notification if there is any anomaly regarding those parameters through smart phone application or website. Smart microcontroller was installed in wellhead panel and three sensors are mounted in desired point around wellhead to perform online Intelligent Well Monitoring (IWM) for well’s parameters. If abnormality occurs, real time notification would be sent to user’s smart phone application or website by using global mobile communication system (GSM) signal. The parameters monitored were pressure, temperature, and load because they are essential to be analyzed as initial diagnosis of well problem. Based on the readings, production team could quickly perform troubleshooting to prevent loss production opportunity (LPO). The programming of this smart microcontroller used C language as data compiler. This method was tested in one of the wells in Lindai field, which has the highest oil production. After three months of surveillance, in terms of data quality, the values shown by this tool had only five percent differences compared to manual survey using calibrated measurement tools. Additionally, the parameters could be monitored online, real time, and gave the notification directly to users should there be any issues. Moreover, this tool could reduce the response time of the field crew significantly from six hours following the conventional field tour to only in five minutes by relying on real time notification. In addition, the operational cost of this tool was 82% cheaper compared to other well-known online monitoring tool available in the market so it is considered economical. In the long term, this tool will be implemented on all wells in Siak block for integrated real time monitoring. Furthermore, the impact of field scale implementation will be much greater such as increasing data accuracy by eliminating human error from manual well checking and improving safety of the crew by reducing the possibility of fatigue. The utilization of smart microcontroller for online well monitoring is beneficial for marginal field with high number of wells and wide field coverage. Earlier, real time well monitoring is usually considered expensive investment that rarely become priority. However, the implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) by using this tool can be the game changer in marginal field and maximize the well’s production by reducing LPO.

Anti-HER2 VHH Targeted Fluorescent Liposome as Bimodal Nanoparticle for Drug Delivery and Optical Imaging

Objective: The aim of this study was to formulate fluorescent-labeled targeted immunoliposome to visualize the delivery and distribution of drugs in real-time. Methods: In this study, fluorescent-labeled liposomes were decorated with anti-HER2 VHH or Herceptin to improve the monitoring of intracellular drug delivery and tumor cell tracking with minimal side effects. The conjugation efficiency of antibodies was analyzed by SDS-PAGE silver staining. In addition, the physicochemical characterization of liposomes was performed using DLS and TEM. Finally, confocal microscopy visualized nanoparticles in the target cells. Results: Quantitative and qualitative methods characterized the intracellular uptake of 110±10 nm particles with near 70% conjugation efficiency. In addition, live-cell trafficking during hours of incubation was monitored by wide-field microscopy imaging. The results show that the fluorescent-labeled nanoparticles can specifically bind to HER2-positive breast cancer with minimal off-target delivery. Conclusion: This kind of nanoparticles can have several applications in personalized medicine, especially drug delivery and real-time visualization of cancer therapy. Moreover, this method also can be applied in the targeted delivery of contrast agents in imaging and thermotherapy.

AbstractMicrolensing light curves due to single stars are symmetric and typically last for a month. So far about 4000 microlensing events have been discovered in real-time, the vast majority toward the Galactic centre. The presence of planets around the primary lenses induces deviations in the usual light curve which lasts from hours (for an Earth-mass [M⊕] planet) to days (for a Jupiter-mass [Mj] planet). Currently the survey teams, OGLE and MOA, discover and announce microlensing events in real-time, and follow-up teams (together with the survey teams) monitor selected events intensively (usually with high magnification) in order to identify anomalies caused by planets. So far four extrasolar planets have been discovered using the microlensing technique, with half a dozen new planet candidates identified in 2007 (yet to be published). Future possibilities include a network of wide-field 2m-class telescopes from the ground (which can combine survey and follow-up in the same setup) and a 1m-class survey telescope from space.
