Studies completed with undergraduate populations have shown that attendance positively correlates with academic performance. A marked decline in classroom attendance within medical school has recently been noticed with the availability of video capture of lectures and other online material. This study compares these in the era of online material. It took place during the second-year Gastrointestinal and Renal Systems module. Attendance was mandatory at team-based learning and case-based learning sessions on new material and voluntary at lectures (29 sessions) and case-based learning on material previously covered (9 sessions). Attendance was recorded prospectively. All lectures were recorded, and all related files were available to students online. Performance was based on a 118 multiple-choice question final examination. Students voluntarily completed the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The study group consisted of 78 students (68% of 114 total) of whom 48 completed the MSLQ. Mean attendance was 24%, with 33% of students attending none of the nonmandatory sessions. The median score on the final exam for participants was 86.0 (range: 28.8). High levels of self-efficacy and the ability to self-regulate effort were predictive of low attendance. Attendance was positively predicted by an orientation toward peer learning and help seeking. There was no correlation between the percentage of classes attended and performance on the final exam. We conclude that different facets of self-regulated learning predict attendance, with highly confident students being the least likely to attend, and that attendance at in-class sessions is no longer a good marker for performance.

This case is currently taught in Darden's ““First-Year Strategy”” course. Scott Snell also teaches it in his second year elective, ““Developing Organizational Capability””. The case would be useful in any course that examines the topic of core capabilities, organizational change, or strategic alignment. This field-based case provides an overview of reorganization at AstraZeneca UK Limited (AZN) and focuses on the processes, systems, and people (human and social capital) in the R&D unit. It allows for an examination of AZN’s core capabilities and how enterprise leadership requires making an explicit connection between investments in people and performance that benefit the firm. The strategy includes: build a pipeline with new prescription drugs that were unique enough to provide a differentiated benefit to patients, grow the business globally, streamline the organization and increase efficiency, and build a culture of courage, creativity, and collaboration. What areas of R&D should the company invest in, and what would the R&D transformation look like?

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2010-2011 and 2011-12 at Pantnagar in tarai soil of Uttarakhand to study the effect of different herbicides on plant growth, weed dynamics, nutrient uptake and yield of dwarf fieldpea. Results revealed that uncontrolled weeds caused 27.3 and 39.4 per cent reduction in grain yield of dwarf fieldpea during first and second year, respectively as compared to two hand weedings done at 20 and 40 days after sowing (DAS). Among the chemical treatments, minimum nutrient removal of 3.0 kg N,0.5 kg P and 3.3 kg K ha-1by weeds was recorded under pendimethalin 1.0kg ha-1 (PE)+ imazethapyr 0.05 kg ha-1 (POE,30 DAS) as against 11.4 kg N, 1.96 kg P and 12.6 kg K ha-1, respectively in weedy check Two hand weedings done at 20 and 40 DAS, which remained at par with pendimethalin1.0 kg ha-1 (PE) + imazethapyr 0.05 kg ha-1 (POE, 30 DAS) and pendimethalin 1.0kg ha-1(PE) + quizalofop ethyl 0.05kg ha-1(POE, 30 DAS) caused significant reduction in weed dry weight and increased the value of plant height, number of leaves per plant and dry matter accumulation per plant as compared to weedy check. These treatments produced 27.1, 23.1 and 16.0 per cent more number of pods/plant and yielded 50, 40 and 35.7 per cent higher grain yield, respectively over weedy check. The maximum weed control efficiency was computed under two hand weedings followed by pendimethalin 1.0 kg ha-1 (PE)+ imazethapyr 0.05kg ha-1 (POE, 30 DAS) and pendimethalin 1.0kg ha-1 (PE)+ quizalofop ethyl 0.05 kg ha-1 (POE, 30 DAS).

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the reading skills in understanding the short story of the second-year students at SMK Negeri 9 Padang. Second, to describe the writing skills of a short story for the second year students at SMK Negeri 9 Padang. Third, to describe the contribution of reading short story comprehension into the writing skills of a short story made by the second year students of SMK Negeri 9 Padang. The design of this research was quantitative with a descriptive method. Then, this study also was a correlational design. The population of this study was the second - grade students at SMK Negeri 9 Padang in the academic year 2018/2019 for about 232 students. The sample of this study was taken by using a proportional random sampling technique (20%), which was 46 students. The data of this study were the results of reading skills tests for understanding short story texts and the results of the text writing short story texts. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure reading skills in understanding short story texts and performance tests to measure short story texts writing skills. There were several results of this study. First, the writing skill of the short story text of the second-year students at SMK Negeri  Padang was more than adequate (LdC). Second, reading skills understanding the short text of the second-year students at SMK Negeri 9 Padang was in a Good qualification (B). Third, reading skills understanding the short story of the second-year students at SMK Negeri 9 Padang contributed 72.1% to the short story writing skills of the second year students of SMK Negeri 9 Padang.         Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Teks Cerpen, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Cerpen

In this paper, we report on the design, the fabrication, and performance of SWIR photomodules using sensitive two-dimensional arrays based on InGaAs-heterostructures. The de- sign of suggested InGaAs-heterostructure includes InAlAs wideband barrier layer and high sensitive absorber InGaAs layer which are increasing the uniformity and operability of focal plane array (FPA), so the number of defect elements are less than 0.5 %. The possibilities of spectral range expanding into short-wavelength to 0.5 μm and into long-wavelength to 2.2 μm regions have been considered. The operation principals of active-pulse system for 0.9–1.7 μm spectral range based on InGaAs 320256 FPA with 30 μm pitch have been presented. The investigations showed that the infrared gated-viewing system based on the InGaAs 320256 FPA provided a spatial resolution of 0,6 m.

The goal of community service in the second year (2020) in Pelaga village is to increase the role of tourism aware groups (Pokdarwis) and small business groups (SMEs) for the development of Pelaga Agrotourism Park-based on community. Through mentoring done by the team has been successfully created preferred tour packages and promotional tools online on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. Agricultural products as supporting tourism produced by SME groups have been successfully improved quality and performance by using the brand Pelaga Agrotourism Park. It is hoped that the use of destination branding will increase the promotion and marketing of agribusiness products and Pelaga village as an agrotourism destination. Keywords: Pelaga Agrotourism Park, village community empowerment.
