We propose statistical image analysis for psychological projective drawings to facilitate assessing the reliability of the projective drawing making the determination of its validity difficult. Standard analysis involves (1) drawing a picture, (2) scanning the drawing, (3) dividing the drawing, (4) analyzing the gray level histogram moment (GLHM), (5) applying spatial gray level dependence method (SGLDM), (6) applying the gray level difference method (GLDM) for the drawing, and (7) interpreting the drawing. To demonstrate the proposed procedure, we used the tree test (Baum test). Three adults were presented with blank A4 paper and asked to draw a picture of a tree with fruit on it. Drawings were analyzed by statistical image analysis and results interpreted clinically.

This article presents a new method of segmenting images with gray levels. The method is based on determining several thresholds for separation of gray levels. The determination of these thresholds is done using the certainty of the neutrosophic information. The concept of this method can be stated simply: to choose the local maximums for the neutrosophic certainty.

The purpose. Analysis of the basic directions of eco-design; development of classifications of eco-materials; determination of perspectives of their use in the design of the handbags. Methodology. The research is based on systematic analysis of eco-materials in clothes and in handbags, as well as on general methodology of clothes and accessories design. The methods of system-structural analysis and visual-analytical method are used at different stages of the research. Results. The basic principles of eco-design have been studied, the classification of eco-materials has been developed, the tendencies of using eco-materials in the design of handbags have been determined, the trends of fashion have been analyzed and the collection of handbags made of cork material has been created. The use of eco-materials in the design of light industry products makes it possible to obtain new aesthetic properties, thereby opening new opportunities for the development of the fashion industry. The use of eco-materials promotes for the development of new constructive techniques by the designers, for the creation of the latest technologies in fashion industry; it makes it possible to diversify the artistic solution of the costume and to improve its expressiveness. Scientific novelty. The regularities of formation of accessories collections in eco-style, as well as the basic hallmarks of style (color palette, accessories and furnishings) are determined. Practical significance. The collection of eco-style handbags with the use of cork material, based on current fashion trends, is developed.

The purpose of this work is the spectrophotometric determination of the color of ceramic pigments for the development of technology for the production of high-quality ceramic paints of a wide color palette for decorating building ceramics, porcelain and faience products. In this regard, using the principles of heterovalent isomorphic substitution of atoms in crystals, the compositions of ceramic pigments were designed on the basis of the anorthite derivatives containing transition elements with the general formula Са1-хMexAl2+xSi2-xО8, where calcium and silicon ions were replaced by aluminum and transition element, Ме – Cо, Ni, Fe, Cr. The color characteristics were taken on the UV-2600 spectrophotometer with «UV Probe» software. Measurement of wavelengths was in the range of -220-1400 nm. For Fe3+ with tetrahedral coordination, the brown color is due to the d–d transition. The absorption wavelengths of the samples corresponded to 758-283 nm. Со2+ is characterized by a coordination number of 4, the wavelengths of the absorbed light are 1328, 776, 625, 551, and 408 nm. In this case, the brightness varies from 5 to 64%. The color of the samples is violet-blue. For the yellow-green complex [NiО6], the absorption bands are located at ⅄ = 894, 693, 622, 385. The absorption spectra of chromium-containing pigments are characterized by the presence of maxima in the region of 536, 408, 310 nm, which corresponds to the green region of the spectrum

AbstractEnzyme histochemistry is a valuable histological method which provides a connection between morphology, activity, and spatial localization of investigated enzymes. Even though the method relies purely on arbitrary evaluations performed by the human eye, it is still wildly accepted and used in histo(patho)logy. Texture analysis emerged as an excellent tool for image quantification of subtle differences reflected in both spatial discrepancies and gray level values of pixels. The current study of texture analysis utilizes the gray-level co-occurrence matrix as a method for quantification of differences between ecto-5′-nucleotidase activities in healthy hippocampal tissue and tissue with marked neurodegeneration. We used the angular second moment, contrast (CON), correlation, inverse difference moment (INV), and entropy for texture analysis and receiver operating characteristic analysis with immunoblot and qualitative assessment of enzyme histochemistry as a validation. Our results strongly argue that co-occurrence matrix analysis could be used for the determination of fine differences in the enzyme activities with the possibility to ascribe those differences to regions or specific cell types. In addition, it emerged that INV and CON are especially useful parameters for this type of enzyme histochemistry analysis. We concluded that texture analysis is a reliable method for quantification of this descriptive technique, thus removing biases and adding it a quantitative dimension.

It is now possible to determine proper motions of high-velocity objects in such a way as to obtain with some accuracy the velocity vector relevant to the Sun. If a potential field of the Galaxy is assumed, one can compute an actual orbit. A determination of the velocity of the globular clusterωCentauri has recently been completed at Greenwich, and it is found that the orbit is strongly retrograde in the Galaxy. Similar calculations may be made, though with less certainty, in the case of RR Lyrae variable stars.

Using the new reductions of the IUE light curves by Sonneborn et al. (1997) and an extensive set of HST images of SN 1987A we have repeated and improved Panagia et al. (1991) analysis to obtain a better determination of the distance to the supernova. In this way we have derived an absolute size of the ringRabs= (6.23 ± 0.08) x 1017cm and an angular sizeR″ = 808 ± 17 mas, which give a distance to the supernovad(SN1987A) = 51.4 ± 1.2 kpc and a distance modulusm–M(SN1987A) = 18.55 ± 0.05. Allowing for a displacement of SN 1987A position relative to the LMC center, the distance to the barycenter of the Large Magellanic Cloud is also estimated to bed(LMC) = 52.0±1.3 kpc, which corresponds to a distance modulus ofm–M(LMC) = 18.58±0.05.
