The design of modern gas turbine combustors continues to be driven by the demand for lower emissions of NOx and CO. Achieving reduced emissions on dry low emissions combustors necessitates the monitoring of associated, potentially destructive combustion noise. Power Systems Manufacturing (PSM) has developed a Dynamic Data Acquisition System for use in the noise performance optimization and health monitoring of low emissions combustors. Various noise probes and set-ups have been evaluated on test benches, combustion test rigs, and engines operating over their complete load range. The set-up and calibration of the combustion dynamic monitoring system is described here. An application of the dynamic data acquisition system is presented for the PSM combustor retrofit of the 85MW General Electric Frame MS7001EA machine, achieving 6ppm NOx, and 2ppm CO at base load and maintaining single digit emissions down to 50% load. The excellent condition of the combustion hardware following 8,000 hours of base load operation was indicative of operation in a low combustion noise environment. Combustion system noise monitoring ensures the lowest possible emissions, without compromising combustion hardware durability through excessive dynamic loading.

This paper puts forward a new type of wireless data acquisition system design which is based on wireless sensor networks. Using ZigBee short-range wireless communications technology for data transmission, so that the system will not only significantly reduces the amount of equipment, but also makes the system placed flexibly and moves easily. As the whole system-wide monitoring center, FPGA is responsible for getting the data together which is gathered from various nodes in the system and it also controls over the whole system intelligently. The results proved that the system is used simply, and works stably, reliably, fast and efficiently; whats more, it has a broad application prospect.

According to the requirement of Formula Student China (FSC), combined with the actual of 2012 Guangzhou Auto S - Power team of South China University of Technology, a set of data acquisition system was designed and developed, and performance of the car chassis was analysed with data acquisition system, effective adjustment scheme is put forward. program was designed with LabVIEW software and NI cRIO 9076 data collector. This is experiment demonstrated that data acquisition system help designer to understand the quantitative value of the car performance in the process of the car testing, and help us to improve accuracy of the chassis adjustment, and also help us to improve work efficiency of commissioning phase.

Instrumentation and data acquisition system for a typical air-sea interaction experiment are described. The experiments were conducted with the help of a stable air-sea interaction buoy anchored 5 km offshore in the Atlantic Ocean near Long Island. Errors due to the tilting motions of the buoy are discussed. The instruments were designed to survive the hostile marine environment and maintain their calibration and relatively high frequency response. A line-of-sight RF telemetry system was used to obtain data at a fast rate. Unique power supply features such as a wind charger and a solar panel were used to extend the life of the batteries. Future plans regarding data transmission through geostationary satellites are presented.
