The paper considers the problem of calculation of average probability of error of optimum symbol‑by‑symbol coherent reception of binary opposite phase‑shift keyed signals (BPSK) in the presence of similar synchronous noise. The noise similar to signal of PSK‑2 (BPSK), synchronous on clock periods, matching on frequency, differing in sequence of information characters and, perhaps, on initial phase of the bearing fluctuation is considered, up to mutual coherence of signal and noise. Formulas for calculation of probability of error are derived and results of partial computer type of diagrams of tension are given in some points of the correlation receiver. Optimum reception of discrete signals is carried out by means of the correlation receiver or the coordinated filter configured on signal in lack of noise in the presence of only receiver noises. It is shown that availability of synchronous similar or harmonious coherent noise, aim on structure, leads to decrease in noise stability of radio channel of information transfer. Than the level of noise is higher, that the probability of error is more.

AbstractIn this study, a new optical method is presented to determine the concentrations of NaCl and glucose aqueous solutions by using a thermo-elastic optical indicator microscope. By measuring the microwave near-field distribution intensity, concentration changes of NaCl and glucose aqueous solutions were detected in the 0–100 mg/ml range, when exposed to microwave irradiation at 12 GHz frequency. Microwave near-field distribution intensity decreased as the NaCl or glucose concentration increased due to the changes of the absorption properties of aqueous solution. This method provides a novel approach for monitoring NaCl and glucose in biological liquids by using a CCD sensor capable of visualizing NaCl and glucose concentrations without scanning.

Abstract This article deals with two theological paradoxes in the Book of Esther (Masoretic Text). Arguably, the most striking characteristic of the book is that it does not mention God. At the same time, the two Jewish protagonists bear names that are identical with, or at least strongly reminiscent of, those of the Babylonian deities Marduk and Ištar. While the author of Esther seems to completely ignore the cultic laws of the Pentateuch, at the end of the book he strongly emphasizes the foundation of the Purim feast. Although each of these four topics has been dealt with in scholarship, they are seldomly—and if so, only partly—investigated with regard to their mutual coherence. In aiming to do this, the present article undertakes to reevaluate the theological profile of the Book of Esther (as expressed in the Masoretic Text) as well as its historical location. As for the latter question, the intriguing statement related to “relief and deliverance coming to the Jews from another place” in Est 4:14 provides an important hint.
