Five new eriophyoid mites infesting weeds of the family Poaceae are described and illustrated from Egypt. They are Abacarus stagninis sp. nov. from Echinochloa stagnina (Retz.) P. Beauv., vagrants in grooves between veins on the upper leaf surface, causing discoloration of the leaves; and four new species from genus Aceria (A. echinochloae sp. nov., A. barnyardi sp. nov., and A. stagninis sp. nov.) from E. stagnina and E. crus–galli (L.) Beauv., and Aceria pennisetosa sp. nov., from Pennisetum purpureum Schumach. These species are vagrants underneath inner surface of the leaf sheath around stem and no symptoms were observed. However, A. barnyardi sp. nov. is a vagrant underneath inner surface of the leaf sheath around stem and are endoparasitic inside tissue of leaves causing rusted leaves.

A new genus and new species of the mite family Eriophyidae (Phyllocoptinae), namely Cothrix erugata n. sp. et n. gen., is described from Heliconia stricta Huber (Heliconiaceae). In addition, one new genus and two new species of Diptilomiopidae, namely Rhyncadicrus asperulus n. sp. et n. gen. from banana, Musa acuminata Colla x Musa balbisiana Colla (genomic group AAB) (Musaceae) and Catarhinus granatus n. sp. from Heliconia bihai L., are described and illustrated. The mites were collected in the State of Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil. All were vagrants on the lower leaf surfaces of their host plants and no visible damage symptoms were observed.

The genus Crepis is redescribed from original material held in different institutions and transferred to the family Calloporidae. Crepis longipes, the type species, is redescribed and stabilized by typification. The description of Crepis verticillata is amplified. Three new species are described, all of them previously identified as C. longipes: Crepis harmelini n. sp. from the Strait of Gibraltar, Crepis sidneyi n. sp. from the Indo-Pacific region, and Crepis sinensis n. sp. from the South China Sea. A new genus, Mourellina n. gen., is erected for Crepis decussata, which is split into two species: Mourellina decussata n. comb. and Mourellina gonzaloi n. sp. This genus is placed in its own family, Mourellinidae n. fam., of uncertain affinities. The diagnosis of the family Chlidoniidae, which up to now included the genera Chlidonia and Crepis, is modified by excluding the latter genus.

The invasive weed cogon grass Imperata cylindrica (Poaceae) is a perennial grass not only in crops but also in natural areas, causing economic and environmental damages. In this paper, five new eriophyoid mites (subfamily Phyllocoptinae) infesting Imperata cylindrica are described from Egypt: three new species from genus Abacarus (A. imperatus sp. nov., A. aegyptiacus sp. nov., and A. gizaensis sp. nov.) and two new species from genus Aculodes (A. tinaniensis sp. nov. and A. skorackae sp. nov.). These species are vagrants in grooves between veins on the upper leaf surface; no visible damage was observed. However, A. gizaensis was found wandering mainly on upper young leaves, often near the tips causing discoloration of the leaves. Both adult sexes and immature stages are described and illustrated. The genus Aculodes is recorded from Egypt for the first time.
