Neotrombidium hajizadehi Noei & Saboori sp. nov. and Neotrombidium khanjanii Noei & Saboori sp. nov. (Acari: Neotrombidiidae), collected from unidentified beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in Khorramabad, Aleshtar and Dore Chegeni cities, Lorestan Province, Iran, are described. A key to larval species of Neotrombidium of the world is provided and the generic diagnosis is amended.

Two New Species

Two new species of Floridotarsonemus Attiah, 1970 (Acari: Heterostigmatina: Tarsonemidae), F. kukri Karmakar & Mondal sp. nov. and F. kanthali Karmakar & Mondal sp. nov. are described based on the specimens collected from Rhododendron indicum (Ericaceae), Cinchona officinalis (Rubiaceae) and Artocarpus heterophyllus (Moraceae) in Central Himalayan biogeographic province located in Darjeeling and Kalimpong district and Nadia district in the new alluvial zone of West Bengal, India. This registers the first record of Floridotarsonemus from the Indo-Malyan biogeographic realm. A note on the generic diagnosis of Floridotarsonemus and keys to differentiate the species of world Floridotarsaonemus are provided.

The family Tenuipalpidae from Greece is revised and keys to the Greek species of the gene­ra Aegyptobia, Brevipalpus, Cenopalpus, Pentamerismus and Tenuipalpus are provided. A key to the Greek tenuipalpid genera is also given. The species: Aegyptobia leiahensis, Phytoptipaipusparadoxus, Brevipalpus recki, Pentamerismus coronatus, P. juniperi, P. o­regonensis, Pseudoleptus zelihae, Dolichotetranychus floridanus, Raoiella macfarlanei and Obdulia tamaricis are recorded for the first time. Two new species Aegyptobia karys­tensis and Aegyptobia aliartensis are described and illustrated. Hosts, distributional data and relation to hosts are presented for each species. A revaluation of the world genera and subgenera of the Tenuipalpidae is presented.

The genus Cryptotendipes Lenz from China is reviewed. Two new species, C. nodus and C. parallelus, are described and illustrated from males. Cryptotendipes lenzi Zorina is a new record for China. The male of C. casuarius (Townes) from China is redescribed. Unassociated larvae of four unnamed species also are presented. Cryptotendipes sibaabeus Sasa, Sumita & Suzuki is transferred to the genus Cladopelma as a new combination. The generic diagnosis for males and larvae is emended. Keys to known males and larvae in the world are given.

Two new species, Pseudocossonus shanghaiensis sp. nov. and P. yunnanensis sp. nov., from China are described. Within a project to determine the edaphic predatory mites from the Brazilian Alagoas state, two new species of Afrodacarellus Hurlbutt (Rhodacaridae) were found, namely Afrodacarellus alagoensis Santos & Castilho n. sp. and Afrodacarellus xucurukariri Santos & Castilho n. sp.. These are here described based on the morphology of adult females. A key for the separation of females of the 31 recognisable world species of Afrodacarellus is provided, including the newly described species.

Two new species of the genus Elattoma Mahunka, 1969 (Acari: Heterostigmatina: Pygmephoridae) associated with Morimus verecundus (Faldermann 1836) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) are described and illustrated from Oak forests in Golestan province, Northern Iran: Elattoma cerambycidum Rahiminejad & Hajiqanbar sp. nov. and E. abeskoun Rahiminejad & Hajiqanbar sp. nov. Both formed large colonies attached on the ventral surface, around coxae I–III of different individuals of the host beetles. This is the first phoretic record of the genus Elattoma for beetles of the family Cerambycidae. Furthermore, our record of Elattoma is new for the arthropod fauna of Iran. A key to world species of the genus Elattoma is also provided.

AbstractMorphology, distribution, and habitat data are presented for three species of the oribatid mite genus Gymnodampia Jacot occurring in North America. A revised generic diagnosis is given and the type species Gymnodampia setata (Berlese) is redescribed based on topotypic material from Missouri. Immatures of G. setata are described and aspects of their biology are presented. Two new species from North America, G. jacotisp. nov. and G. lindquistisp. nov., are proposed and described on the basis of adults, and a key is given for North American species of Gymnodampia. The ameroid genera Cristamerus Hammer, from Pakistan and China, and Defectamerus Aoki, from Japan, Korea, and China, are considered junior synonyms of Gymnodampia, and G. conformis (Fujikawa) is considered a junior synonym of G. fusca (Fujikawa). Immatures of G. setata are apheredermous, but with a circular line of dehiscence, whereas known immatures of the superfamily Ameroidea are eupheredermous. Nonetheless, without convincing apomorphic traits linking Gymnodampia to any known apheredermous family of Brachypylina, we hypothesize that Gymnodampia has lost the eupheredermy characteristic of Ameroidea, and we place it in the family Ameridae on the basis of adult similarities.
