The fauna of phytoseiid mites (Phytoseiidae) is still scarcely known in the Azores archipelago. A survey was conducted in the islands of Pico, Faial and Flores where phytoseiid mites were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Twenty-two species were collected, nine of which represent new records for the Azores. Five new species, Neoseiulus petraeus Ferragut sp. nov., Phytoseius azorensis Ferragut sp. nov., Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) atlanticus Ferragut sp. nov., T. (T.) floresiensis Ferragut sp. nov. and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) septemporosus Ferragut sp. nov., are described and illustrated. We provide complementary morphological information for four known species, additional features for the separation of Typhlodromina tropica (Chant) and T. subtropica (Muma & Denmark) and the redescription of Amblyseius elongatus (Garman). A key to separate the phytoseiid species of the Azores is also included.

The phytoseiid mites of the Cape Verde archipelago are scarcely known. We report the results of a survey conducted on the islands of Santiago and Santo Antão, where phytoseiids were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Fourteen species were collected, four of which represent new records for the islands. One new species, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) macrodactylus Ferragut sp. nov., is described and illustrated. We describe the unknown male of Amblyseius neolargoensis van der Merwe, provide a redescription of the male of Euseius fustis (Pritchard & Baker) and additional morphological information for all examined species.

This paper reports the mites of the family Phytoseiidae known from Argentina. It is based mostly on a survey conducted in the northern region of that country as well as on published information. Twenty-two species were found in that survey, ten of which are new records from that country, including a new species here described as Neoseiulus argentinus Guanilo & Moraes n. sp.. Measurements of all species collected and a taxonomic key to separate the species known to date from Argentina are provided. All together 47 species are reported from Argentina.

Thirteen species of phytoseiid mites of the subfamilies Typhlodrominae and Phytoseiinae are reported for the first time from Spain. Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) baeticus sp. nov. is described and four species poorly known morphologically, Paraseiulus soleiger (Ribaga), Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) ilicis Athias-Henriot, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) recki Wainstein and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) sapiens Athias-Henriot are re-described based on new materials collected in Spain. Finally, the unknown male of Typhloseiulus eleonorae Ragusa & Swirski is described and additional morphological information is provided for other seven species.

Little is known about the mite family Phytoseiidae of the Cook Islands, and only five species have previously been recorded from the country. In this work, we present new data on 12 species, including five new records and two new species (Knopkirie flascus sp. nov. and Kuzinellus rarotonga sp. nov.). A key to all species of Phytoseiidae known from the Cook Islands is provided.

The Italian phytoseiid fauna consists of 91 valid species. Eighteen of them were described as new species from materials collected in various Italian localities. In the present paper we report nine new records from the Italian fauna and describe the new species, Neoseiulus mediterraneus belonging to the subfamily Amblyseiinae. Complementary descriptions of two rare species, namely: Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) singularis and Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) knisleyi, were also added.

Phytoseiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) is a well-known mite family, and more than 2,700 species have been recorded worldwide. Prior this study, 64 phytoseiid species had been recorded in main island of Taiwan and its neighboring islands. Nevertheless, many areas are still unexplored and need further investigation, such as the Penghu Islands. The present study was based on phytoseiid mite materials collected from the Penghu Islands in 1989 and 2020. A list of identified phytoseiid mites is provided herein, 16 species, eight genera, and three subfamilies. Proprioseiopsis penghuensis sp. nov. and Neoseiulus xiaomenensis sp. nov. are new to science, and Amblyseius cinctus Corpuz-Raros & Rimando, A. fletcheri Schicha, Phytoseius rachelae Swirski & Shechter are new records for the country. The further comprehensive phytoseiid investigation in Penghu Islands is needed for exploring the relationships among environmental and agricultural changes, and phytoseiid mites.
