Architectural and Performance Integration of Hybrid Vehicles
With the development of advanced propulsion systems such as hybrid the need for new system integration, development, and validation strategies increases. Traditional methods for development and validation of vehicles focused mostly on the mechanical systems. Considering that the majority of architectural and performance issues arise from the different interfaces, the complexity increases when these interfaces are of different types such as electro-mechanical and electro-chemical etc. In this paper, some architectural and performance integration issues arising from vehicle electrification and the development of advanced propulsion systems will be studied. To demonstrate the issues and illustrate their impact on the vehicle development process some hybrid system development examples are discussed.
