This paper presents the methodology for an improved visual tracking, intended for the autonomous control of mobile robots. We propose the cumulated use of the image processing method and positioning sensors for an improved visual tracking. The method primarily uses detection, tracking, and recognition techniques to locate the targets. The use of such methods will enable the robot to monitor the real-time continuous changes in the orientation and the alignment with respect to the target module. The proposed methodology is implemented on a subsisting genderless coupling mechanism which is integrated into a multi-directional hybrid locomotion module to test the alignment accuracy in an autonomous docking procedure. The long-term objective is to demonstrate the autonomous docking and self-reconfiguration of multiple mobile robots.

Drawing upon a collection of oral history interviews, this paper offers an insight into entrepreneurial and residential patterns and behaviour amongst Turkish Muslims in the German city of Bremen. The academic literature has traditionally argued that Turkish migrants in Germany have been pushed into self-employment, low-quality housing and segregated neighbourhoods as a result of discrimination, and poor employment and housing opportunities. Yet the interviews reveal the extent to which Bremen’s Turkish Muslims’ performances and experiences have overwhelmingly been the consequences of personal choices and ambitions. For many of the city’s Turkish Muslim entrepreneurs, self-employment had been a long-term objective, and they have succeeded in establishing and running their businesses in the manner they choose with regards to location and clientele, for example. Similarly, interviewees stressed the way in which they were able to shape their housing experiences by opting which districts of the city to live in and by purchasing property. On the whole, they perceive their entrepreneurial and residential practices as both consequences and mediums of success, integration and a loyalty to the city of Bremen. The findings are contextualised within the wider debate regarding the long-term legacy of Germany’s post-war guest-worker system and its position as a “country of immigration”.

ABSTRACT A strategy used internationally for the active search of respiratory symptomatic patients allows early identification of people with cough for a time equal to or greater than three weeks considered with suspicion of pulmonary tuberculosis in order to discover the bacilliferous cases. It is a public health activity and must be performed by all health services on an ongoing basis. In order to identify the cases, interrupt the transmission chain and reduce the incidence of the disease in the long term. Objective: To know the numbers of reported cases of tuberculosis and to carry out a comparison with the indicators of respiratory symptomatology in the municipality of Palmas / TO between the years 2015 and 2016. Method: The study is descriptive, cross-sectional and direct documentary. Conclusion: It is verified that the confirmed number of TB of the RS research for both the year 2015 and the year 2016 is well below the new cases reported, it was possible to perceive the discontinuity of the patients that are referred for evaluation and which are not mainly related to the results of the exams. The enhancement of images is an image processing method that highlights certain image information according to specific needs and, at the same time, weakens or removes unwanted information. In the field of computer and machine vision, haziness and fog lead to degradation of images using different degradation mechanisms, including contrast attenuation, blurring, and degradation of the pixels. This limits machine vision systems efficiency such as video monitoring, target tracking, and recognition. Different dark channel single image dehazing algorithms have been designed quickly and efficiently to address image hazing problems. These algorithms rely on the dark channel theory to estimate the atmospheric light which is a crucial dehazing parameter. In this paper, a review of image dehazing and enhancement has been presented.

After two years of design research, the near-term goal of the Senior Citizens Department, Regional Niagara, was to build innovative homes to address the issues and programs the studies revealed. The long-term objective was to build homes that would start to change the public perception of long-term care facilities. Featuringa “Town Square”, the home comprises five houses of 20 beds, each providing a different level of care. Corridors are a unique design, and each house has its own dining room facilities and activity room. A central Day Care lounge features dining room facilities for family and friends. The Department hopes the overall design will help to break down the stereotype image of long-term care design, an d provide a suitable environment for the mentally and physically frail, as well as ambulatory residents.

In this chapter, we present the SWiM system, a prototype semantic wiki for collaboratively building, editing, and browsing mathematical knowledge. SWiM is based on the semantic wiki IkeWiki, but replaces the wiki text with OMDoc, a markup format and ontology language for mathematical documents as the underlying knowledge representation format. Our long-term objective is to evolve SWiM into an integrated platform for ontology-based added-value services. As a social semantic work environment, it will facilitate the creation of a shared, public collection of mathematical knowledge (e.g., for education) and serve scientists as a tool for collaborative development of new theories. We discuss the architecture of the SWiM system focusing on its conceptual base, the OMDoc system ontology. In contrast to other semantic wikis, SWiM uses the system ontology to operationalize the fragments and relations of the underlying representation format, not only the domain ontology, that is, the relations between the represented objects themselves. We will present the prototype implementation of the SWiM system and propose its further evolution into a service platform for science and technology.
