In responding to the needs of the material characterization community, the recently developed mesh-free random grid method (MFRGM) has been exhibiting very promising characteristics of accuracy, adaptability, implementation flexibility and efficiency. In order to address the design specification of the method according to the intended application, in the present paper we are presenting a sensitivity analysis that aids into determining the effects of the experimental and computational parameters characterizing the MFRGM in terms of its performance. There are two sets of parameters that affect the performance characteristics of MFRGM for whole field strain measurement applications. The first set involves parameters associated with the characteristics of the experimental setup and the random grid applied on the specimen under measurement. The second set involves the computational characteristics of the mesh-free approximation and the solution (minimization) algorithms utilized. The performance characteristics of the MFRGM are mainly its accuracy, sensitivity, smoothing properties and efficiency. In the present paper we are presenting a classification of the first set of parameters as well as their relationship followed by the above mentioned sensitivity analysis to establish the influence trends in the performance characteristics with the intension to optimize the selection of the user controlled variables for a desired performance specification.

The recently developed mesh-free random grid method (MFRGM) has been exhibiting very promising characteristics of accuracy, adaptability, implementation flexibility and efficiency. These are essential features enabling material characterization methodologies that depend on the experimental measurement of displacement and strain fields. The aim of the present paper is to present a sensitivity analysis that aids into determining the effects of the material or loading orientation of an anisotropic medium with an open hole and critical computational parameters characterizing the MFRGM in terms of its accuracy performance. First a brief outline of the MFRGM is provided. A sensitivity analysis based on the effect of the orientation angle of an anisotropic medium with an open hole is presented for a realistic choice of experimental (optical) characteristics. Finally, the effects of the mean dot size and dot distance (that are essential experimental parameters of the method) on the strain fields, are presented.

The present paper reports on the progress towards the evaluation of the Mesh Free Random Grid Method (MFRGM) for the inverse constitutive characterization of composite materials. The method provides the capability for the remote (non contact) measurement of displacement and strain fields of structures bounded by flat surfaces that deform under various mechanical and generalized loading conditions. The known forward solution of an anisotropic plate with an open hole, loaded at infinity, is used to generate synthetic images MFRG. The inverse problem for determining the constitutive parameters formulated directly on the generalized constitutive law. Performance of the technique is evaluated by the usage of just one frame corresponding to one set of strain state for various amounts of noise. The evaluation is repeated by utilizing frames corresponding to different rotations of the laminate relative to the loading direction. Finally the exceedingly accurate behavior of the methodology is discussed.

In order to facilitate users to switch batteries, starting from the trajectory of electric vehicles, rationally arrange the location of electric vehicle switch stations. First, determine the service radius of the swap station from the consideration of the driver's driving preference, the service target of the swap station and the cruising range of electric vehicles; secondly, use the grid method to divide the Jinjiang District into 42 sub-regions. Through the analysis of massive driving data, combined with power exchange demand and median center theory, the candidate site for the power exchange station in Jinjiang District was initially selected. Finally, the location allocation model is used to select the distribution of the replacement stations when the number of stations is the smallest and the coverage is the largest, and sensitivity analysis is carried out. The conclusion shows that: when the service radius is 3.03km, 12 substations can meet 93.21% of the points.

The present paper reports on the progress towards the development of a computational workbench infrastructure that implements the Mesh Free Random Grid Method (MFRGM) for the remote (non contact) measurement of displacement and strain fields. The method is applicable to structures bounded by flat surfaces that deform under various mechanical and generalized loading conditions. A brief description of MFRGM is followed by the description of the current prototype of a software workbench developed for the computational implementation of the algorithms involved with the analysis display and export of the experimental results associated with any specific applications of the method. Displacement validation as well as two examples of its usage are also presented.

Selecting check index quantitatively is the core of the calibration of micro traffic simulation parameters at signal intersection. Five indexes in the node (intersection) module of VISSIM were selected as the check index set. Twelve simulation parameters in the core module were selected as the simulation parameters set. Optimal process of parameter calibration was proposed and model of the intersection of Huangcun west street and Xinghua street in Beijing was built in VISSIM to verify it. The sensitivity analysis between each check index and simulation parameter in their own set was conducted respectively. Sensitive parameter sets of different check indices were obtained and compared. The results show that different indexes have different size of set, and average vehicle delay's is maximum, so it's necessary to select index quantitatively. The results can provide references for scientific selection of the check indexes and improve the study efficiency of parameter calibration.

The article provides a philosophical analysis of the tropological theory of the history of H. White. The researcher claims that history is a specific kind of literature, and the historical works is the connection of a certain set of research and narrative operations. The first type of operation answers the question of why the event happened this way and not the other. The second operation is the social description, the narrative of events, the intellectual act of organizing the actual material. According to H. White, this is where the set of ideas and preferences of the researcher begin to work, mainly of a literary and historical nature. Explanations are the main mechanism that becomes the common thread of the narrative. The are implemented through using plot (romantic, satire, comic and tragic) and trope systems – the main stylistic forms of text organization (metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche, irony). The latter decisively influenced for result of the work historians. Historiographical style follows the tropological model, the selection of which is determined by the historian’s individual language practice. When the choice is made, the imagination is ready to create a narrative. Therefore, the historical understanding, according to H. White, can only be tropological. H. White proposes a new methodology for historical research. During the discourse, adequate speech is created to analyze historical phenomena, which the philosopher defines as prefigurative tropological movement. This is how history is revealed through the art of anthropology. Thus, H. White’s tropical history theory offers modern science f meaningful and metatheoretically significant. The structure of concepts on which the classification of historiographical styles can be based and the predictive function of philosophy regarding historical knowledge can be refined.

The problem of determining the repair sections of the main oil pipeline is solved, basing on the classification of images using distance functions and the clustering principle, The criteria characterizing the cluster are determined by certain given values, based on a comparison with which the defect is assigned to a given cluster, procedures for the redistribution of defects in cluster zones are provided, and the cluster zones parameters are being changed. Calculations are demonstrating the range of defect density variation depending on pipeline sections and the universal capabilities of linear objects configuration with arbitrary density, provided by cluster analysis.
