Effective methods of computational synthesis for mechanical systems must represent both function and structure in order to generate physical designs with desired behaviors. To this aim, a parallel grammar for mechanical synthesis was developed based on a Function-Behavior-Structure design model. This parallel grammar was implemented for the domain of mechanical clocks and watches in order to demonstrate the flexibility and strengths of the approach. Designs were produced using a fully parametric parts library. Incorporating performance considerations, generate-and-test methods were then used to produce clock designs that satisfy different sets of spatial constraints to demonstrate the potential of the method for general mechanical synthesis problems.

In most cases, the normal force applied to mechanical systems with friction is supposed to be constant for convenience. However, through experiments, normal vibration has been proved to have an effect on the stability of mechanical systems. Aiming at uncover the effects of the varying normal force on the stick slip motion, a belt driven system with LuGre friction is investigated. The driving velocity is considered as the critical parameter for stick slip occurrence. By means of the Jacobian matrix and the Taylor expansion, the critical driving velocity is achieved analytically as a function of frequency and acceleration of the varying normal force. In addition, the influence of the varying normal force on the size of limit cycles is also studied numerically. Results show that the variation of the applied normal force has an obviously effect on the stability of mechanical systems, and it should not be ignored in the structure design and the stability analysis for high precision mechanical systems.

In order to study the comparison of material design, structure design and integrated design about the porous material, a concurrent topology optimization design model associating materials and structures with periodical microstructures is presented. The sensitivity formulae of hierarchy optimization are given based on the integrated design model and related numerical experiments were carried out. The applicability of hierarchy optimization is discussed and their advantage and disadvantage are analyzed through numerical examples which provide some useful opinions about the porous material design.

Merauke Regency is a coastal area with muddy soil conditions, Merauke district is a very rare area of sand and gravel material, because of these conditions the community and housing business actors use red brick as a foundation structure material for houses, especially simple housing. Meanwhile, generally red bricks have a non-structural function. In this study the author tries to plan and compare costs in terms of the design model of the continuous foundation structure of red bricks with a point structure design model, in order to achieve a safe, comfortable and economical design result. This research was conducted by direct observation (survey) to the research location, namely in the Kumbe health center, Malind district, Merauke district. In addition, the author also conducted a literature study on the standards of prices and wages in the related institutions, analyzed the prices of the plan drawings, concluded the results of the research so that it became an input for the government / related agencies and the community. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a very significant price difference. The difference reaches Rp. 14,670,000.00, where the design of a continuous foundation with a total length of its foundation is 60,953 M1, the cost reaches Rp. 41,120,000.00. While the design of the point foundation with the same total length, the cost only reaches Rp. 26,450,000.00.   Kata kunci : Struktur Pondasi Titik., Estimasi Teknis., Struktur Pondasi Menerus.

Abstract A new type of mechanical system structure design model is proposed, which uses a small number of system feature samples to generate a new structure model. In this model, (1) the theory of limited sample recommendation algorithm is used to study the external dimensions recommendation of the reducer, an SG-Resnet network suitable for the generation of reducer structure parameters is established, the main factors affecting the promotion ability and learning rate of the SG-Resnet network structure are analyzed through hyperparameters, and in-depth study of the mechanism of each influencing factor. (2) Establish an optimization design method for the internal dimensions of the reducer, and initially calculate the structural parameters according to the basic performance parameters of the reducer, combine the objective function and constraint conditions to establish the corresponding multi-objective optimization model, and establish the Kriging proxy model. The mixed population NSGA-II algorithm is proposed, the MP-NSGA-II algorithm is used to obtain multiple sets of Pareto optimal solutions, and the multi-objective evaluation method is used to select the optimal solution from the non-dominated solution set. Experiments were carried out to verify the positive enhancement effect of the structural design model on the stiffness of the reducer. The experiment showed the reliability and generalizability of the model. This research provides a new solution for reducer design and lays a solid foundation for the development of integrated RV reducer forward design software.

The workflow of traditional steel often causes the lack of information, and the high cost, reduced efficiency in the various stages of the project. BIM technology simulate building by digital real information, share the information by central document, that close connection with the various stages of the process, and exchange information, so as to improve efficiency and reducecosts.Based on the concept of Building Information Model, the article explains the design and construction of 3D SteelGate software system. By adopting the Object-Oriented Design model, the article established parameterized database used for model construction in steel constructions. Article also describes the application in steel design software with the help of design model, analysis model and the drafting model.
