Adaptive Synchronization of Complex Dynamical Networks in Presence of Coupling Connections With Dynamical Behavior

In this paper, the synchronization of complex dynamical networks (CDNs) is investigated, where coupling connections are expressed in terms of state-space equations. As it is shown in simulation results, such links can greatly affect the synchronization and cause synchronization loss, while many real-world networks have these types of connections. With or without time-delay, two different models of the CDNs are presented. Then, by introducing a distributed adaptive controller, the synchronization conditions are derived by utilizing the Lyapunov(–Krasovskii) theorem. These conditions are provided in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily solved by standard LMI solvers even for large networks due to a few numbers of scalar decision variables. At the end, illustrative numerical examples are given to specify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

This paper investigates the synchronization of complex dynamical networks with coupling delays and external disturbances by applying local feedback injections to a small fraction of nodes in the whole network. Based onH∞control theory, some delay-independent and -dependent synchronization criteria with a prescribedH∞disturbances attenuation index are derived for such controlled networks in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which guarantee that by placing a small number of feedback controllers on some nodes, the whole network can be pinned to reach network synchronization. A simulation example is included to validate the theoretical results.

We consider a class of complex networks with both delayed and nondelayed coupling. In particular, we consider the situation for both time delay-independent and time delay-dependent complex dynamical networks and obtain sufficient conditions for their asymptotic synchronization by using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theorem and the linear matrix inequality (LMI). We also present some simulation results to support the validity of the theories.

AbstractThis paper investigates the drive-response synchronization problem of Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy hidden Markov jump complex dynamical networks. More precisely, a novel asynchronous synchronization control strategy is developed for coping with mismatched hidden jumping modes. Furthermore, the neural network is adopted with online learning laws for unknown function approximation. By taking advantage of Lyapunov method, sufficient conditions are established to ensure mean-square synchronization performance with disturbances. Based on the synchronization criterion, asynchronous controller gains are designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. An illustrative example is finally given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization techniques.

This paper is concerned with the passivity problem of memristive bidirectional associative memory neural networks (MBAMNNs) with probabilistic and mixed time-varying delays. By applying random variables with Bernoulli distribution, the information of probability time-varying delays is taken into account. Furthermore, we consider the probability distribution of the variation and the extent of the delays; therefore, the results derived are less conservative than in the existing papers. In particular, the leakage delays as well as distributed delays are all taken into consideration. Based on appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKFs) and some useful inequalities, several conditions for passive performance are established in linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the feasibility of the presented theories, and the results reveal that the probabilistic and mixed time-varying delays have an unstable influence on the system and should not be ignored.

A global exponential stability method for a class of discrete time recurrent neural networks with interval time-varying delays and norm-bounded time-varying parameter uncertainties is developed in this paper. The method is derived based on a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional to exhibit the delay-range-dependent dynamics and to compensate for the enlarged time-span. In addition, it eliminates the need for over bounding and utilizes smaller number of LMI decision variables. Effective solutions to the global stability problem are provided in terms of feasibility-testing of parameterized linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the potential of the developed technique.

In this paper, we study the synchronization problem for nonlinearly coupled complex dynamical networks on time scales. To achieve synchronization for nonlinearly coupled complex dynamical networks on time scales, a pinning control strategy is designed. Some pinning synchronization criteria are established for nonlinearly coupled complex dynamical networks on time scales, which guarantee the whole network can be pinned to some desired state. The model investigated in this paper generalizes the continuous-time and discrete-time nonlinearly coupled complex dynamical networks to a unique and general framework. Moreover, two numerical examples are given for illustration and verification of the obtained results.

This paper is concerned with the delay-dependent stability of systems with distributed time-varying delays. The novelty relies on the use of some new inequalities which are less conservative than some existing inequalities. A less conservative stability criterion is obtained by constructing some new augmented Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals, which are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the presented criterion is demonstrated by two numerical examples.
