A semi-active sloshing suppression control method for the contained liquid in the closed vessel is presented. The presented method uses the air spring effect of the gas chamber on the liquid surface, when the closed vessel is divided into two separated compartments with the vertical bulkhead in it so as to allow communication between two compartments at the lower part of the vessel. When the valve that is laid on the bulkhead between the two gas chambers closes, the spring effect of the gas chamber arises. On the contrary, when the valve opens, the spring effect of the gas chamber diminishes. A switching control algorithm of the valve operation is designed to decrease the sloshing response. The effectiveness of the presented semi-active sloshing suppression control method is examined with numerical simulations and the scaled model experiment. As the result, the presented method is verified to be effective to suppress the sloshing while the consuming energy to control the valve is small.

To solve the traffic congestion control problem on oversaturated network, the total delay is classified into two parts: the feeding delay and the non-feeding delay, and the control problem is formulated as a conflicted multi-objective control problem. The simultaneous control of multiple objectives is different from single objective control in that there is no unique solution to multi-objective control problems(MOPs). Multi-objective control usually involves many conflicting and incompatible objectives, therefore, a set of optimal trade-off solutions known as the Pareto-optimal solutions is required. Based on this background, a modified compatible control algorithm(MOCC) hunting for suboptimal and feasible region as the control aim rather than precise optimal point is proposed in this paper to solve the conflicted oversaturated traffic network control problem. Since it is impossible to avoid the inaccurate system model and input disturbance, the controller of the proposed multi-objective compatible control strategy is designed based on feedback control structure. Besides, considering the difference between control problem and optimization problem, user's preference are incorporated into multi-objective compatible control algorithm to guide the search direction. The proposed preference based compatible optimization control algorithm(PMOCC) is used to solve the oversaturated traffic network control problem in a core area of eleven junctions under the simulation environment. It is proved that the proposed compatible optimization control algorithm can handle the oversaturated traffic network control problem effectively than the fixed time control method.

To restrain the interference of micro-vibration caused by Control Moment Gyroscope, a new control method based on Magnetorheological damper was proposed in this paper. A mechanical model based on the structure of the presented design was built, and the semi-active control algorithm of damping force was proposed for the designed Magnetorheological damper. The magnetic flux density and other magnetic field parameters were considered and analyzed in Maxwell, and also the related hardware circuit which implements the control algorithm was prepared to test the presented design and algorithm. The results of simulation and experiments show that the presented Magnetorheological damper model and semi-active control algorithm can complete the requirements, and the vibration suppression method is efficient for Control Moment Gyroscope.

Thermal print head heating realtime temperature fluctuations are too large, often causing damage to the print head heating point, resulting in poor print quality and unsatisfactory print results. Therefore, in order to improve the stability of the thermal print head during printing, and at the same time solve the inefficiency of the traditional single chip microcomputer control of the thermal print head heating method, a field programmable gate array (FPGA) based thermal print head heating control method is proposed. In order to control the core, the intelligent fuzzy PID control algorithm is used to ensure that the temperature of the print head can be stabilized quickly. Through simulation and experimental verification, it is shown that the intelligent fuzzy PID control algorithm greatly improves the temperature stabilization effect, and the time required to reach stability short, not only improve the printing accuracy, but also extend the life of the print head.

To solve the multi-interceptor coordination problem and to intercept the target with impact angle constraint, a novel distributed cooperative control algorithm with impact angle constraint based on integrated guidance and control is proposed. First, the mathematic model of integrated guidance and control is established by combining the interceptor-target relative motion model with the dynamic equation of the interceptor on pitch plane. The time varying gain extended state observer is developed to estimate and compensate the unknown disturbance. Based on the estimated value and fast nonsingular dynamic surface sliding control method, the IGC algorithm of leader is given; Then, based on distributed cooperative "leader-follower" model, the cooperative control strategy of multi-interceptor is designed, and gives out speeds in two directions on pitch plane, which are transformed to the command of total velocity and trajectory angle based on kinematic relations. Finally, to control the follower, the time varying gain extended state observer and the dynamic surface sliding control method are adopted. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the distributed cooperative control algorithm.

The space station manipulator does lots of tasks with contact force/torque on orbit. To ensure the safety of the space station and the manipulator, the contact force/torque of manipulator must be controlled. Based on analyzing typical tasks’ working flows and force control requirements, such as ORU (orbit replacement unit) changeout and dual arm collaborative payload transport, an impedance control method based on wrist 6 axis force/torque feedback is designed. For engineering implementation of the impedance control algorithm, the discretization method and impedance control parameters selection principle are also studied. To verify the compliance control algorithm, a ground experiment platform adopting industrial manipulators is developed. In order to eliminate the influence of gravity, a real-time gravity compensation algorithm is proposed. Then, the correctness of real-time gravity compensation and force compliance control algorithm is verified on the experiment platform. Finally, the ORU replacement and dual arm collaborative payload transport experiments are done. Experimental results show that the force compliance control method proposed in this paper can control the contact force and torque at the end of the manipulator when executing typical tasks.

Typical domestic induction cooktops can only heat ferromagnetic pots/vessels. However, to increase the availability and marketability of induction heating (IH) cooktop products, heating techniques for all types of metallic pots (i.e., created from metals such as aluminum, copper, and stainless steel) are required. To satisfy the requirements of induction cooktops, this paper proposes the design of an all-metal domestic IH system that can heat any type of metallic pot while considering the temperature variation of the working-coil. A control algorithm using a power curve-fitting method (CFM) is presented to quickly respond to load parameter variations in the IH. In addition, the CFM control algorithm is established to compensate for the power reference value by reflecting the increase in the working-coil temperature during the heating of the non-ferromagnetic pot. To evaluate the performance of the proposed system, the control algorithm strategy and experimental results based on a 3.2 kW all-metal IH cooktop are presented.
