Experimental Investigation of a Variable Geometry, Radial Ejector
Keyword(s):
A radial ejector with two degrees of geometric control is constructed and tested at pressures ranging from 0.7 to 1.5 atmospheres and entrainment ratios ranging from 0 to 2. Maximum efficiencies of 16 percent were obtained, and performance could be maintained over a range of pressures by changing the position of the “spool,” an element defining the nozzle contours and flow areas. This design offers potential for applications with varying pressure and flow conditions where feedback control systems can continuously adjust the ejector geometry for maximum performance.
