Strain Cycling Effects in 1100 Aluminum
Keyword(s):
The cyclic hysteresis-loop stress-strain behavior, i.e., the hysteresis-loop-shape, of 1100 aluminum was investigated. A power function: ep=K1Sn1+K2Sn2 describes the saturated hysteresis-loop-shape behavior. The exponents n1 and n2 are hysteresis-loop strain-hardening exponents corresponding to the behavior at high and low values of strain and are material properties with the values 0.12 and 0.02, respectively, for annealed material. The flow stress parameters, K1 and K2, depend on cyclic history and plastic anisotropy. A dislocation shuttling model is consistent with the observed behavior.
