The stability of the undeflected middle surface of a uniform elastic cylindrical shell governed by Ka´rma´n’s equations is studied. The shell is being subjected to a time-varying axial compression as well as a uniformly distributed time-varying radial loading. Using the direct Liapunov method sufficient conditions for deterministic asymptotic as well as stochastic stability are obtained. A relation between stability conditions of a linearized problem and that of Ka´rma´n’s equations is found. Contrary to the stability theory of nonlinear plates it is established that the linearized problem should be modified to ensure the stability of the nonlinear shell. The case when the shell is governed by the Itoˆ stochastic nonlinear equations is also discussed.

In this paper, the stability and periodicity of memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Based on linear matrix inequalities, differential inclusion theory and by constructing proper Lyapunov functional approach and using linear matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability and periodic solutions of memristor-based neural networks. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the results.

The problem of projective synchronization of drive-response coupled dynamical network with delayed system nodes and multiple coupling time-varying delays is investigated. Some sufficient conditions are derived to ensure projective synchronization of drive-response coupled network under the impulsive controller by utilizing the stability analysis of the impulsive functional differential equation and comparison theory. Numerical simulations on coupled time delay Lorenz chaotic systems are exploited finally to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

This paper investigates the projective synchronization (PS) of drive-response time-varying coupling complex dynamical networks with time delay via an adaptive-impulsive controlling method, in which the weights of links are time varying. Based on the stability analysis of impulsive control system, sufficient conditions for the PS are derived, and a hybrid controller, that is, an adaptive feedback controller with impulsive control effects, is designed. Numerical simulations are performed to verify the correctness and effectiveness of theoretical result.

This paper investigates the stability of stochastic discrete-time neural networks (NNs) with discrete time-varying delays and leakage delay. As the partition of time-varying and leakage delay is brought in the discrete-time system, we construct a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function based on stability theory. Furthermore sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. Numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the applicability of the proposed method.

This work concerns the stability of impulsive Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms as well as Dirichlet boundary condition. By means of Poincaré inequality and Gronwall-Bellman-type impulsive integral inequality, we summarize some new and concise sufficient conditions ensuring the global exponential stability of equilibrium point. The proposed criteria are relevant to the diffusion coefficients and the smallest positive eigenvalue of corresponding Dirichlet Laplacian. In conclusion, two examples are illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of our obtained results.

This paper investigates the problem of adaptive event-triggered synchronization for uncertain FNNs subject to double deception attacks and time-varying delay. During network transmission, a practical deception attack phenomenon in FNNs should be considered; that is, we investigated the situation in which the attack occurs via both communication channels, from S-C and from C-A simultaneously, rather than considering only one, as in many papers; and the double attacks are described by high-level Markov processes rather than simple random variables. To further reduce network load, an advanced AETS with an adaptive threshold coefficient was first used in FNNs to deal with deception attacks. Moreover, given the engineering background, uncertain parameters and time-varying delay were also considered, and a feedback control scheme was adopted. Based on the above, a unique closed-loop synchronization error system was constructed. Sufficient conditions that guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system are ensured by the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

We firstly employ the fixed point theory to study the stability of cellular neural networks without delays and with time-varying delays. Some novel and concise sufficient conditions are given to ensure the existence and uniqueness of solution and the asymptotic stability of trivial equilibrium at the same time. Moreover, these conditions are easily checked and do not require the differentiability of delays.

This paper deals with the stability analysis problem for a class of discrete-time stochastic BAM neural networks with discrete and distributed time-varying delays. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and employing M-matrix theory, we find some sufficient conditions ensuring the global exponential stability of the equilibrium point for stochastic BAM neural networks with time-varying delays. The conditions obtained here are expressed in terms of LMIs whose feasibility can be easily checked by MATLAB LMI Control toolbox. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of the derived LMI-based stability conditions.

This paper deals with the stability of switched systems with time-varying delay. The time-varying system parameters are assumed to be norm-bounded. Based on a novel switched time-varying Lyapunov functional method, some new LMI-based sufficient conditions have been obtained to ensure the exponential stability for the uncertain switched delays systems. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a numerical example and the simulative results are also given.
