A Grammar Driven Data Translation System for Computer Integrated Manufacturing

The ability to share data among the numerous software applications used to design and analyze products is an important aspect of computer integrated manufacturing. In the past, data sharing has been implemented by direct translation of data files, through neutral data formats, and through central shared databases. This paper describes a data sharing architecture that addresses some of the limitations of these systems. It employs a database management system as a central repository for part data in an application independent format. A configurable translator, called Datatrans, is used to transfer data between the database management system and native application data files. In this way software from multiple independent vendors or legacy software can be supported, because applications need not incorporate code specific to any database management system nor have knowledge of the centralized database schema. The translator uses grammars to define and recognize the data to be translated. The grammar is augmented with commands that are passed to the front-end of the database management system or to application programs to store and retrieve data. Thus the query language and the application commands serve as a high level interface to the underlying database and application data files. Entity transformations that are beyond the scope of a grammatical description are performed by database methods, which are available to all applications. An implementation of the system demonstrates the feasibility of this approach.

Perkembangan teknologi CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) memaksa perusahaan manufaktur untuk meningkatkan kebijaksanaan strategi kompetisinya dengan fleksibelitas dan optimasi proses pemesinan untuk tetap mampu bersaing dalam pasar dan konsumen yang berubah-ubah. Perhitungan waktu dan biaya produksi haruslah dapat meningkatkan efektifitas kerja dan optimasi proses pemesinan. Tujuan dari penulisan jurnal ini adalah membuat suatu perangkat lunak dan pemograman database yang dapat melakukan perhitungan waktu, biaya produksi secara otomatis dan tersedianya database yang terintegrasi dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Visual Basic 6.O. Sistem kerja dari database elektronik yang tergabung dalam Database Management System (DBMS) ini meliputi  hampir seluruh langkah proses, input data, penyimpanan data, verifikasi data dan perhitungan optimasi proses pemesinan. Penggunaan perangkat Iunak ini menunjukan ketelitian, kemudahan pemanggilan dan penyimpanan data, edit data, dan efisiensi waktu perhitungan biaya dan waktu produksi proses pemesinan secara keseluruhan tanpa harus menggunakan tenaga ahli.

MongoDB is a NoSQL type of database management system which does not adhere to the commonly used relational database management model. MongoDB is used for horizontal scaling across a large number of servers which may have tens, hundreds or even thousands of servers. This horizontal scaling is performed using sharding. Sharding is a database partitioning technique which partitions large database into smaller parts which are easy to manage and faster to access. There are hundreds of NoSQL databases available in the market. But each NoSQL product is different in terms of features, implementations and behavior. NoSQL and RDBMS solve different set of problems and have different requirements. MongoDB has a powerful query language which extends SQL to JSON enabling developers to take benefit of power of SQL and flexibility of JSON. Along with support for select/from/where type of queries, MongoDB supports aggregation, sorting, joins as well as nested array and collections. To improve query performance, indexes and many more features are also available.

This paper describes the query language of SemanticObjects, a development framework for object relational applications, and its associated object relational algebra. A person's addiction to smoking can be seen from the characteristics of the cigarette addict, including: difficulty controlling the desire to smoke, high appetite, frequent coughing, sleep disturbances, and difficulty concentrating. A person's addiction to cigarettes can have a bad impact on the health of that person. The research used the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The system was built using the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language. The database management system uses My Structured Query Language (MYSQL). The criteria for the level of community addiction to cigarettes are cost, smoking frequency, and the environment. This study aims to design a Decision Support System for determining the level of community addiction to smoking and applying the Fuzzy Mamdani method for determining the level of community addiction to cigarettes. So it can be concluded that the person's level of addiction is at number 13 or categorized as CANDU.
