Electric power-assisted steering (EPS) is a control system where an electric motor is used to provide assistance in vehicle steering. In this work controllers are designed for a column-type EPS equipped with a brushed DC motor to enable energy optimization. Using a mathematical model of EPS a controller is developed based on nonlinear adaptive regulation method to generate driver torque. PID control is then applied to produce assistance torque in accordance to desired energy saving. Simulation results using Matlab show the trade-off between driver’s comfort and energy consumption. The control paradigm introduced here fits appropriately in electric vehicles (EVs) where electrical energy is scarce.

In an electric power-assisted steering (EPS) an electric motor is controlled to provide assistance in vehicle steering and to enable various steering feels. To optimize energy consumed by a column-type EPS equipped with a brushless dc (BLDC) motor the author designs two controllers as needed. Firstly a controller to generate driver torque is developed based on nonlinear adaptive regulation method using the mathematical model of EPS. The second controller is a PID motor controller that is applied to produce assistance torque for desired energy saving. The trade-off between driver’s comfort and energy consumption is demonstrated using Matlab simulation results. In electric vehicles (EVs) where electrical energy is limited the control scheme introduced here is expected to fit perfectly.

A PID control for electric vehicles subject to input armature voltage and angular velocity signal constraints is proposed. A PID controller for a vehicle DC motor with a separately excited field winding considering the field current constant was tuned using controlled invariant set and multiparametric programming concepts to consider the physical motor constraints as angular velocity and input armature voltage. Additionally, the integral of the error, derivative of the error constraints, and λ were considered in the proposed algorithm as tuning parameters to analyze the DC motor dynamic behaviors. The results showed that the proposed algorithm can be used to generate control actions taking into account the armature voltage and angular velocity limits. Also, results demonstrate that a controller subject to constraints can improve the electric vehicle DC motor dynamic; and at the same time it protects the motor from overvoltage.

An on-grid solar power plant will distribute electric power to the grid in normal conditions. But when the supply of grid outages (islanding), on-grid solar power plant also can’t operate because the loss of the reference signal that is used as a reference for the inverter in the synchronization process. So there is potential loss of power when solar power plant can be used as a substitute source of electrical energy while PLN can’t serve consumers. In this research developed a simulation model that refers to the off grid solar power plant 500 Wp in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Udayana and can operate on-grid and off grid when islanding in matlab simulink. In this model made operation scenario where solar power plant operates on grid at the beginning of the simulation and after that operate off-grid (not connected to the grid and supply the local load). The simulation results show the model off grid solar power plant has been able to generate a voltage of 220 V and a frequency of 50 Hz in accordance with the solar power plant at the research site. The simulation results also show model of on grid solar power plant has been able to synchronize to the low voltage grid of PLN not loaded and loaded. On/off grid solar power plant model can operate on-grid or off-grid that corresponds to the operation scenario and produce the same output. Thus solar power plant can supply.

Abstract - Automatic system have grown widespread across all sector so do water heater. Traditionally, heating water is done by utilizing fire as heat source. As the growing of technology, the heating process could be done by manipulating electrical energy by convert it to heat. Electrical energy is flown to a metal rod that contact directly with the water which increase the water temperature. On some case, appropiate water temperature is needed. Altough, a thermometer is needed to read the actual temperature as a feedback value for the system and a system that can control the electricity current flow through the heater that the heat produced is linear to the current flow. With implementing microcontroller as a process node for generating PWM signal, this problem can be solved. Also, Labview is needed as an interface for monitoring and bursting an output which have been processed by Proportional, Integral, and Devivative (PID) controller to producing accurate and stable heat. Based on the results of testing, the system is able to provide a rapid response to any changes that occur, both changes in set-point and changes in water temperature (actual value). Another test is done by comparing the temperature value detected by the temperature sensor in this device with an external digital thermometer placed in the same place, and from some of the tests the temperature value detected by the temperature sensor in this device has a difference of ± 0.19 ℃ with a digital thermometer. Abstract - Control and monitoring of the rotational speed of a wheel (DC motor) in a process system is very important role in the implementation of the industry. PWM control and monitoring for wheel rotational speed on a pair of DC motors uses computer interface devices where in the industry this is needed to facilitate operators in controlling and monitoring motor speed. In order to obtain the best controller, tuning the Integral Derifative (PID) controller parameter is done. In this tuning we can know the value of proportional gain (Kp), integral time (Ti) and derivative time (Td). The PID controller will give action to the DC motor control based on the error obtained, the desired DC motor rotation value is called the set point. LabVIEW software is used as a PE monitor, motor speed control. Keyword : LabView, Motor DC, Arduino, LabView, PID.

The article proposes a proprietary approach to the diagnosis of induction motors allowing increasing the reliability of electric vehicles. This approach makes it possible to detect damage in the form of an inter-turn short-circuit at an early stage of its occurrence. The authors of the article describe an effective diagnostic method using the extraction of diagnostic signal features using an Enhanced Empirical Wavelet Transform and an algorithm based on the method of Ensemble Bagged Trees. The article describes in detail the methodology of the carried out research, presents the method of extracting features from the diagnostic signal and describes the conclusions resulting from the research. Phase current waveforms obtained from a real object as well as simulation results based on the field-circuit model of an induction motor were used as a diagnostic signal in the research. In order to determine the accuracy of the damage classification, simple metrics such as accuracy, sensitivity, selectivity, precision as well as complex metrics weight F1 and macro F1 were used.

AbstractThe rapid development of hypersonic vehicles has motivated the related research dramatically while the evasion of the hypersonic vehicles becomes one of the challenging issues. Different from the work based on the premise that the pursuers’ information is fully known, in this paper the evasion guidance for air-breathing hypersonic vehicles (AHVs) against unknown pursuer dynamics is studied. The gradient descent is employed for parameter estimation of the unknown dynamics of the pursuer. The energy-optimized evasion guidance algorithm is further developed by taking the acceleration constraint and energy optimization into consideration. Under the proposed algorithm, the system can deal with the unknown pursuer dynamics effectively and provide more practical guidance for the evasion process. The simulation results show that the proposed method can enable the AHV to achieve successful evasion.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are designed to improve the efficiency of energy and prevent the environment from being polluted, when they are widely and reasonably used in the transport system. However, due to the feature of EV’s batteries, the charging problem plays an important role in the application of EVs. Fortunately, with the help of advanced technologies, charging stations powered by smart grid operators (SGOs) can easily and conveniently solve the problems and supply charging service to EV users. In this paper, we consider that EVs will be charged by charging station operators (CSOs) in heterogeneous networks (Hetnet), through which they can exchange the information with each other. Considering the trading relationship among EV users, CSOs, and SGOs, we design their own utility functions in Hetnet, where the demand uncertainty is taken into account. In order to maximize the profits, we formulate this charging problem as a four-stage Stackelberg game, through which the optimal strategy is studied and analyzed. In the Stackelberg game model, we theoretically prove and discuss the existence and uniqueness of the Stackelberg equilibrium (SE). Using the proposed iterative algorithm, the optimal solution can be obtained in the optimization problem. The performance of the strategy is shown in the simulation results. It is shown that the simulation results confirm the efficiency of the model in Hetnet.
