Abstract A new distribution map is provided for Atherigona soccata Rond. (A. indica Mall., A. infuscata Emd.) (Dipt., Muscidae) (Sorghum Shoot-fly, Cholam Fly). Host Plants: Sorghum, rice, wheat, maize, millet and grasses. Information is given on the geographical distribution in EUROPE, Italy, ASIA, Bangladesh, Burma, India, Iraq, Israel, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, AFRICA, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Nigeria, Rhodesia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaire.
