This investigation was carried out to study the Bay leaves (Laurus nobilis) and extracted three types of Aqueous, Ethanolic alcohol, Essential oil extracts of leaf plant powder study. The performance of extracts as anti-oxidant agent were evaluated by estimate the value of Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) of sunflower oil to these extracts in concentrate% 0.04 and %0.02 compared with commercial antioxidant BHA (Butylated hydroxyl anisole) and BHT (Butylated hydroxyl toluene) in concentrate % 0.02 , in addition to the control sample (of crude sunflower oil without any additives) during 16 days storage at 60 C. The results showed an increase in the TBA values in sunflower oil, crude and stored in during storage at 16 days in 60 C. Some extracts laurels showed high anti-oxidant activity and more than commercial antioxidants (BHT) and (BHA). The results of the TBA transactions for crude extracts of plant concentration% 0.04 most efficient overall transactions in concentration % 0.02, aqueous extract of bay leaves in the concentration of % 0.04 showed high activity asan antioxidant with 2.88 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil TBA value in the 16th and the last day of storage time in 60 C, while the TBA values of the rest of the coefficients of crude sunflower oil translate with plant extract :essential oil ethanolic alcohol and water extract in the concentration of 0.02% were 4.04, 3.39, 3.12 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil, and in the concentration of 0.04% for essential oil ethanolic alcohol treatment were 4.01 and 2.29 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil , respectively in the last day of storage, either control and commercial antioxidants BHA and BHT reached TBA values of crude oil 6.88, 3.16 and 3.50 mg Malonaldehyde/kg oil, respectively, in the same day of storage. Was estimated as the content of plant nutrients and mineral major and minor, were detected. Chemical quality of the active chemical compounds of plant leaves, which included tannin, Alclaicosadat, Alsabonyat, resins, phenols, flavonoids and alkaloids were evaluate to.

Numerous articles on Salvia officinalis L. have been published regarding the composition of their essential oil. The considerable variation found may be due to the quality of the plant material as well as to the methods used for analysis. A simple GC-MS method was developed and optimized in the QbD approach, for the determination of sage essential oils. The optimization of GC-MS analysis was performed using different mobile phase flows, injection volumes, split ratios and temperature programs. The optimized method proved to be simple and can be successfully applied for the determination of sage essential oils.

Environmental contamination and the excessive use of inorganic fertilizers resulting in stagnant yields of field crops which necessitate the utilization of combined fertilization approach under changing climatic conditions. Current study was aimed to clarify the influence of several fertilizer sources (chemical, organic, organomineral fertilizers) on yield and quality of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.). The results revealed that the fertilizer sources significantly affected the yield of coriander cultivars. The absence of “Year x Variety x Fertilizer Type” interactions for any of the noted parameters signaled that the detected “Variety x Fertilizer Type” interactions were constant regardless of the year factor. The recorded values of traits according to fertilizer sources different for the plant height from 61.85 to 69.67 cm, number of branches from 5.98 to 7.71 (piece/plant), number of umbels per the main umbel from 5.62 to 7.18 pieces, seed yield from 1.06 to 1.66 t/ha, the biological yield from 4.29 to 5.70 t ha−1, harvest index from 25.29 to 29.41%, essential oil ratio from 0.29 to 0.33%, and essential oil yield from 3.1 to 5.6 L ha−1. Erbaa variety was observed to be superior over the rest of the varieties producing the maximum values of 6.5 L ha−1 of essential oil, 0.36% essential oil content, 30.9% harvest index, 1.81 t/ha seed yield, and 5.9 t ha−1 biological yield with the treatment of chemical fertilizers.

Teff and amaranth are gluten-free cereals with significant nutritional and health benefits. However, they are underutilized and known in limited areas of the world. The present study evaluated the fatty acid profile, crude fat, squalene content and lipid quality of seven teff (Eragrostis teff (Zucc.) Trotter) and three amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus L.) varieties from Ethiopia. The fat content ranged from 2.92 to 3.34% (averaging 3.06%) and from 8.28 to 9.21% (averaging 8.6%) for teff and amaranth, respectively. Linoleic, oleic and palmitic acid were predominant in both teff and amaranth, accounting for approximately 89 and 85% of total fatty acid content, respectively. The saturated to unsaturated fatty acids ratio ranged from 0.30 to 0.32 in teff and from 0.38 to 0.40 in amaranth. The parameters used to describe lipid quality, i.e., thrombogenicity and atherogenicity indices, show that teff was superior over amaranth, suggesting a preference for the former for healthy food formulation. The squalene content of white amaranth (486.54 mg/100 g DM) was significantly higher than that of the other two varieties (327.54 and 340.81 mg/100 g DM for red and brown amaranth, respectively). In general, both gluten-free crops should be exploited for their potential as ingredients for the development of novel functional foods.
