Childhood, Growth, and Dependency in Liberal Political Philosophy

Political philosophy presents a static conception of childhood as a state of lack, a condition where intellectual, physical, and moral capacities are undeveloped. This view, referred to by David Kennedy as the deficit view of childhood, is problematic because it systematically disparages certain universal features of humanity—dependency and growth—and incorrectly characterizes them as features of childhood only. Thus there is a strict separation between childhood and adulthood because adults are characterized as fully autonomous agents who have reached the end of their moral and cognitive development. I argue that this view is mistaken, and limits both the developmental abilities of adults and ongoing moral development within an organized state. I propose that we view dependency as a human condition. By doing so, children and adults form the kind of relationship with one another that encourages the growth and development of our moral sense in both childhood and adulthood.

Impaired growth and development of children can be identified by early detection as prevention, prevention, stimulation and development. This study aims to determine the effect of early detection assistance models on the ability of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in implementing early detection of early childhood growth and development. The research method uses pretest and posttest design with control group. Providing training and mentoring for PAUD teachers using the Stimulation of Detection and Early Intervention Growing Swell (SDIDTK)/ Child Development Pre-screening Questionnaire (KPSP) for the intervention group while for the control group for PAUD teachers by being given a KPSP booklet after the posttest. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in scores of PAUD teachers' knowledge and skills in stimulating early childhood growth and development (p=0.001) between the intervention group and the control group after the mentoring model intervention. The knowledge of PAUD teachers who are given a mentoring model is better than the control group, there are significant differences in improving the ability of PAUD teachers to do early detection in children compared to the control group. PAUD teachers who are given the intervention of the mentoring model.

The child is a trust given by Allah in His people, there are few things should be noted currently child growth and development. Especially the development of aqidah and moral development (akhlak). Developments relating with aqidah as faith, while morals relating with child behavior. pattern against children educaton operations can be performed non-verbal and verbal. No only firmly embodied in or operating verbal language. But can be also shown operating non-verbal, such as what can be done with how to operate physical punishment. Physical punishment is done by parents like hitting the child, not mean parents is cruel for hitting the hearts of Islamic education denid entry, as long as the beating is done based on the rules has been determined. However. Parents can establish morals (akhlak) children with how do good communication. By using language what mannered. Therefore, important for parents teach about speak politely by hearts early on. With communications using language that good will creates the sponsored children hearts speak, because language has the role of character formation for kid.

For some moral philosophers the question ‘Why be moral?’ is fundamentally inappropriate, since it seems to ask for non–moral reasons or motivations for moral action and thus to threaten the integrity and autonomy of morality. Yet the question ‘Why be moral?’ need not be oriented towards discovering non–moral reasons for moral action, but rather towards elucidating what general description of the human condition is most compatible with the fundamental character of morality. Rather than leaving the moral sense as an isolated category of human response, it is relevant to ask what other features of reality it may be associated with and in what general context it can most coherently be situated. The purpose of this paper is to examine the sense of moral obligation as an objective or categorical claim on individual action and to present the thesis that this moral sense is most intelligible within a theological context.

Young children generally learn words from other people. Recent research has shown that children can learn new actions and skills from nonhuman agents. This study examines whether young children could learn words from a robot. Preschool children were shown a video in which either a woman (human condition) or a mechanical robot (robot condition) labeled novel objects. Then the children were asked to select the objects according to the names used in the video. The results revealed that children in the human condition were more likely to select the correct objects than those in the robot condition. Nevertheless, the five-year-old children in the robot condition performed significantly better than chance level, while the four-year olds did not. Thus there is a developmental difference in children’s potential to learn words from a robot. The results contribute to our understanding of how children interact with non-human agents. This article was intended to reveal the importance of parental awareness in understanding children's growth and development. Parents is the first education place and the teacher is the second for early childhood. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted in a case study. Data were obtained by observation and interview with parents and teachers. The results of this study were (1) The role of parents in stimulating children's cognitive development was as: (observers, motivators, facilitators, education place, and problem solvers); (2) Impact of parents' role on children's cognitive development was the children were motivated to learn at home, became more critical and active, experienced improvement in achieving learning outcomes, were able to express their ideals and  to bring up character of responsibility and confidence.

Growth (growth) is an increase in the size of various organs that can be measured by the size of weight (grams, kilograms) or length (centimeters, meters). Development (development) is the increase in the ability or expertise in the structure and function of the body more complex, in an orderly pattern, as a result of the process of maturation. Keep in mind that the growth and development of each individual is unique. This is caused by several factors including genetic factors (heredity), environment (whether biological or psychological) and behavior (state / behavior in the family). For optimal growth and development of children, the environment must be considered, it must support the biological and psychological health of children, nutrition, must be sufficient and balanced, regularity to health services includes, providing immunization, rest and sleep must be sufficient and avoid fatigue. By using the content analysis method and documentary study, this research seeks to describe the meaning of early childhood growth and development stimulation in physical and mental perspectives. Appropriate stimulation will further optimize multi aspects in children, especially in terms of physical and mental.

Quality of a child can be assessed by process of development. The development is one of the indicators in monitoring the health of child. Child development includes social personal development, motor, coarse language, and fine motor skills. It is estimated that more than 200 million children in developing countries fail to reach their optimal development potential due to poverty, malnutrition, or an unsupportive environment, which affects children's cognitive, motor, emotional, and social development. This study aims to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about growth and development of toddlers with cognitive development of toddlers in the working area of ​​Mungkajang Health Center, Palopo city. The research design used a cross sectional study. The number of samples is 82 people. The results of the study using the test chi-square showed that the p-value = 0.000 was smaller than the value of = 0.05, which means that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge about growth and development of toddlers and cognitive development of toddlers in the working area of ​​Mungkajang Public Health Center, Palopo City. It is recommended for parents to always increase knowledge about child development so that children's cognitive development can be maximized. Several studies have shown that the role of elementary school, kindergarten and PAUD (Early Childhood Education) teachers in early detection of toddler growth and development is very important in efforts to monitor and detect early childhood growth and development. This study aims to analyze the influence of role play learning methods using MCH books to improve the ability of teachers to detect children's growth and development. The design of this study was static group comparison. The study subjects were 100 PAUD Teachers in Poncol District, Magetan Regency, which were divided into treatment and control groups. Data was collected through questionnaires and observations using a checklist. Differences in the ability to detect growth and development of children between the two groups were analyzed using the t test. The results of data analysis show that there was an influence of the use of role play on the ability to detect growth, development and mental emotional problems in children. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh metode pembelajaran role play penggunaan buku KIA untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru untuk mendeteksi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Desain penelitian ini adalah static group comparison. Subyek penelitian adalah 100 Guru PAUD di Kecamatan Poncol, Kabupaten Magetan, yang dibagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian kuesioner dan observasi menggunakan checklist. Perbedaan kemampuan deteksi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak antara kedua kelompok dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan role play terhadap kemampuan deteksi pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan masalah mental emosional pada anak.
