The Mathematical Model

The magnitudes of the kinematic parameters of projectiles motion in the air depends on deterministic (form of projectile, its mass, temperature of air and charge, atmospheric pressure, derivation) and nondeterministic (muzzle velocity, magnitude and direction of wind velocity) values. During the projectile movement, its weight and frontal air resistance force have a determining influence on its dynamics. In the article it is investigated proposed by authors the mathematical model of determination of the functional dependence of the magnitude of the frontal air resistance force of the projectile’s motion on its velocity, mass and caliber, geometric characteristics, temperature and density of air, atmospheric pressure, sound speed in air. Since the trajectory of movement of the BM1 projectile released from the T-12 (MT-12) is canopy, it is assumed that during the projectile’s flight the air temperature and atmospheric pressure are unchanged and equal to their value at the point of the gun.

The propagation of plane linear acoustic wave in a mixture of inert gases is considered by means of a variational formulation of the Boltzmann equations, through which the sound speed c is expressed with errors of order ε2 in terms of trial functions determined with errors of order ε. This feature allows the exact determination of the coefficient of sound dispersion d2 ≡ [dc/dω2] at zero frequency (ω = 0), in terms of trial functions known from the Chapman—Enskog theory. Explicit results for d2 are given for all combinations of noble gases from He to Xe, assumed to interact through the Lennard—Jones potential. Comparison with previous approximate descriptions and with experiments is made.

Helioseismology provides a powerful tool for investigating stratification and dynamics of plasma in the Sun's interior. The observed frequencies of the 5-min oscillations depend on density, sound speed, chemical abundances and angular velocity distributions inside the Sun. These parameters are estimated using inversion techniques.
