Supply chain partner selection (SCPS) is an important issue for firms to remain highly competitive. SCPS is generally formulated as a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making problem, of which the most crucial step is how to cope with the fuzzy correlations of multi-criteria and individual differences of experts. To gain more exact results, we adopt interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets to express the fuzziness of multi-criteria. Fuzzy Choquet integral model is developed to explain correlations of multi-criteria and calculate the evaluation results of each expert. An improved Dempster–Shafer theory is utilized to reconcile differences and synthesize each expert decision results. Additionally, an example is presented to illustrate the potential application of the proposed method.

In order to better meet customer needs and respond to market demands more quickly, mounting number of manufacturing companies have begun to bid farewell to the traditional unitary manufacturing model. The collaborative manufacturing model has become a widely adopted manufacturing model for manufacturing companies. Aiming at the problem of partner selection for collaborative manufacturing of complex products in a collaborative supply chain environment, this paper proposes a multi-objective decision-making model that comprehensively considers the maximization of the matching degree of manufacturing capacity and the profits of supply chain, and gives the modeling process and application steps in detail. The method first uses fuzzy theory to evaluate the manufacturing capabilities of candidate collaborative manufacturing partners. Secondly, Vector Space Model (VSM) is used to calculate the matching degree of manufacturing capacity and manufacturing demand. Then, the paper studied the profit of the supply chain under the “non-cooperative” mechanism and the “revenue sharing” mechanism. Furthermore, the decision-making model is established. Finally, a simulation was carried out by taking complex product manufacturing of Gree enterprise as an example. The research results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the non-linear aspects of the asymmetry-performance relationship under varying conditions of trust and innovation. Its novel approach is useful for addressing the strategic elements of supply chain management (SCM) relationships based on trust and innovation decisions.Design/methodology/approachResults are based on a study of 90 managers from small- and medium-sized firms in Spain. Instead of a classical linear relationship analysis, the authors performed a non-linear analysis, using polynomial modeling and Warp 3 partial least squares method, which provides a more nuanced view of the data and constitutes an original approach to empirical research in SCM.FindingsThis study adds a new viewpoint on SC relationships by suggesting that not all trust and innovation development leads directly to performance improvement. The principal finding is, in varying trust and innovation contexts, that the influences of asymmetry on performance have uneven characteristics and follow non-linear paths.Research limitations/implicationsThis study focuses on only one particular institutional environment in one country. The data are also cross-sectional, which makes it difficult to empirically test causality.Practical implicationsThe findings provide rational insights to managers on when it is appropriate to reduce (or not) asymmetric relationships with partners.Originality/valueTrust and innovation are important and ones of the key requirements of supply chain relationships in any environment, this study argues that the interactions of key SCM elements that drive members to better performance are more complex and non-linear.

Intuitionistic or pythagorean fuzzy sets are the best tools to deal with uncertainty or ambiguity to solve diverse disciplines of application problems. It is often difficult to compute union, intersection, and complements when it comes to a large number of members contained in the set, also it is difficult to check whether it is a subset or not. Here, we used the C-programming language to overcome the problems, and then it is found that more effective and realistic results have been obtained.
