Abstract. It is demonstrated how a commercially available MEMS thermopile infrared radiation sensor can be used as thermal conductivity gas detector (TCD). Since a TCD requires a heater while IR-thermopile sensors have no integrated heater, the thermopile itself is used as heater and temperature sensor at the same time. It is exposed to the measured gas environment in its housing. It is shown that, by using a simple driving circuitry, a mass-produced low-cost IR sensor can be used for hydrogen detection in applications such as hydrogen safety and smart gas metering. The sensor was tested to measure hydrogen in nitrogen with concentration of 0–100 % with a noise equivalent concentration of 3.7 ppm.

Technology is changing day by day with advances in each and every walk of life. The topic of interest in this paper is related to such advancement in security. Now a days there is an increasing demand of security in home as there are lot of cases reported on thefts and un authorized entering of houses. Here we deal in automating home systems with mobile based application. The technology used is raspbian software 2, which required infrared radiation sensors a memory card and an Operating system. Raspbian is selected as OS for this project as it will be easy for beginner. As for the processing part, infrared radiation sensors we have tocopy a file named new out of box software before copying the OS on the memory .Once the Operating system isimplemented some software’s for programming. This also includes options to send short message service to the host about the things happening in the infrared radiation sensor living placeand also send recorded messages when the user is away from home with the help of speech plug-inand a file transfer protocol to use the Raspbian software. This model can be also used anywhere like work place where the patrol man through his Smartphone can give access to people when he is in his rounds. Thus version consists of the frenzy button manage and tracking of domestic home equipment and protection.

This paper reviews basically about Bluetooth based home automation system. It is controlled by PIC microcontroller. Home automation can be defined as the ability to perform tasks automatically and monitor or change status remotely. These include tasks such as turning off lights in the room, locking doors via smartphone, automate air condition systems and appliances which help in the kitchen. Now a days several wireless devices are available such as Bluetooth, Zigbee and GSM. Since Bluetooth is low in cost than the other two and hence is used more. In this paper we have described the methods of automating different home appliances using Bluetooth and pic microcontroller. Different sensors are involved in this system to advance and make it smarter. Sensors such as temperature sensor, liquid sensors, humidity sensor etc. can be used.
