Springs of vibrating screens are prone to fatigue induced failure because they operate in a heavy duty environment, with abrasive dust and under heavy cyclic loads. If a spring breaks, the stiffness at supporting positions changes, and therefore the amplitude of motion and the static and dynamic angular inclination of deck motion also change. This change in the amplitude and in the inclination of motion produces a reduction in separation efficiency. Available models are useful to determine motion under nominal operating conditions when angular displacement is not significant. However in practice there is significant angular motion during startup, during shutdown, or under off-design operating conditions. In this article, a two-dimensional three-degree-of-freedom nonlinear model that considers significant angular motion and damping is developed. The proposed model allows the prediction of vibrating screen behavior when there is a reduction in spring stiffness. Making use of this model for an actual vibrating screen in operation in industry has permitted determining a limit for spring’s failure before separation efficiency is affected. This information is of practical value for operation and maintenance staff helping to determine whether or not it is necessary to change springs, and hence optimizing stoppage time.

This paper analyses the basic structure and the separation theory of hydrocyclone. Three-dimension spiral flow theory and CFD method was used to simulate the Φ75mm hydrocyclone. The paper focuses on researching the separation efficiency influenced by different inlet velocities, volume fraction values and the particle diameters. Besides, the influence of the thickness of overflow pipe is also considered. Results of numerical simulation shows that with the inlet velocity range from 1 to 5m/s and the particle diameters range from 2 to 5um, the hydrocyclone separation efficiency is increasing. As the volume fraction value increased from 1% to 15%, the separation efficiency descended. Increasing the thickness of overflow pipe can reduce the turbulent kinetic energy of hydrocyclone, which can make the inner flow field more stable and enhance the separation efficiency.

Springs are critical components in mining vibrating screen elastic supports. However, long-term alternating loads are likely to lead to spring failures, likely resulting in structural damages to the vibrating screen and resulting in a lower separation efficiency. Proper dynamic models provide a basis for spring failure diagnosis. In this paper, a six-degree-of-freedom theoretical rigid body model of a mining vibrating screen is proposed, and a dynamic equation is established in order to explore the dynamic characteristics. Numerical simulations, based on the Newmark-β algorithm, are carried out, and the results indicate that the model proposed is suitable for revealing the dynamic characteristics of the mining vibrating screen. Meanwhile, the mining vibrating screen amplitudes change with the spring failures. Therefore, six types of spring failure are selected for simulations, and the results indicate that the spring failures lead to an amplitude change for the four elastic support points in the x, y, and z directions, where the changes depend on certain spring failures. Hence, the key to spring failure diagnosis lies in obtaining the amplitude change rules, which can reveal particular spring failures. The conclusions provide a theoretical basis for further study and experiments in spring failure diagnosis for a mining vibrating screen.

In these days most of the software development uses preexisting software components. This approach provides plenty of benefits over the traditional development. Most of the software industries uses their own domain based software libraries where components resides in the form of modules, codes, executable file, documentations, test plans which may be used as it is or with minor changes. Due to shrinking time and high demand of software development it is necessary to use pre tested software components to ensure high functionality in software developed. Software components can be used very easily and without having the worries of errors and bugs because these are developed under expert supervision and well tested. What we have to do is just embed these components in our project. In this paper a survey got conducted over 112 software developer, testers and freelancers. In survey several issues in CBSD were identified. An efficient repository along with a component search engine is developed. All the component retrieval techniques were evaluated and compared with precise and recall method.

Our objective was to develop a process for recovering acetyl groups from industrial northeast hardwood chips. Extraction experiments showed that the white liquor charge of 6% effective alkali at 50°C and liquor-to-wood ratio of 4:1 leads to the complete extraction of acetyl groups from industrial hardwood chips. Electrodialysis was assessed as a technique for separating and concentrating sodium acetate from synthetic hardwood extract. Preliminary separation experiments using dilute sodium acetate showed that the sodium acetate can be concentrated up to approximately 24% by weight from an initial concentration of about 2% by weight. The effects of current density, feed concentration, electro-osmosis, and osmosis on the separation of sodium acetate were evaluated. Finally, selectivity experiments were performed to study the effect of various components of the white liquor on the separation of sodium acetate. Fully oxidized synthetic white liquor was used in selectivity experiments to avoid deleterious effects of Na2S. Selectivity experiments using synthetic oxidized white liquor showed a significant decrease in the separation efficiency due to the presence of sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, and sodium sulfate in the synthetic extract.
